We are lucky to be staying just around the corner from Joanna’s lovely coffee and bakery shop, which quickly has become part of our daily routine—we passed by often and regularly picked up delicious treats for breakfast. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and baker Joanna herself, who told us about the cooking and baking class she hosts in her private home. We quickly agreed and are so glad we did! The late afternoon yesterday was intimate and unforgettable—just my spouse and me cooking alongside Joanna and her warm, welcoming daughter Iris. They thoughtfully accommodated our vegetarian preferences and guided us through preparing several traditional Greek mezedes (shared small plates), including homemade bread, herbed rice, zucchini fritters, a roasted red pepper and feta dip, fried cheese, and a fresh Greek salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, and crunchy croutons. Joanna also treated us to her homemade tzatziki, stuffed grape leaves, and two wonderful homemade desserts. We only wish we could remember all the Greek names for the dishes! After cooking together, we sat down together to enjoy the meal we made over wine and great conversation. We left 4 hours later completely satisfied—full of wonderful food we had never had before, laughter, and a sense that we had made two new friends. They were as much interested in learning about us as we were in learning about them and their lives in Greece. Truly a special, unique experience and one of the most memorable parts of our trip! Highly recommended!

What an amazing afternoon with Iris and Joanna . We made fantastic food in a beautiful setting. We made spanakopita, dacos , feta and pepper dip, epetzofai (sausage and pepper side dish) After we prepared the food we all sat down to eat and shared stories of our travels and families. If you are in Athens I highly recommed this as a " must do" We came in as strangers and left as friends

Joanna and Iris, we can not thank you enough on making the four of us trip to Greece extra special! Welcoming us into your beautiful home and kitchen to cook from scratch a gourmet meal was the highlight of our trip! You guys were so friendly and made us feel extra special and comfortable! Thank you again and can’t wait to see you on our next trip. Tim, Mary Susan, Steve and Karhy

Excellent cooking Class Thank you Joanna and Irida for a wonder Greek cooking experience yesterday. I really enjoyed cooking some traditional Greek dishes. You made it a very warm and welcoming authentic experience . My husband joined us for the meal after we cooked. We both left very satisfied with such delicious flavours. We also love Alchemist, your family cafe and Patisserie around the corner near the Acropolis museum. Do yourself a favour and have an excellent coffee and sweet treat there as well. There is so much love and passion in their cooking. Thank you, I will be creating Greek feasts back in Australia this...

We had an amazing time cooking with Joanna and Iris. Lovely hosts in a beautiful setting that made us feel welcome. Our family, two adults and three teens all enjoyed learning to make and then eating so many traditional Greek dishes. The tomato fritters are out of this world!! Hands down a great and memorable experience that we would all do again in a nano second. A must do event if you like food, meeting new people, and learning about the country and its cuisine. Simple but...
