Takis Bakery — Restaurant in Athens

This is not a critic for the products of the bakery, as I didn't have the chance to taste any of them. This is a critic for the utterly unwelcoming and rude service of the staff, which dissuaded me from buying anything; after entering the premises of the bakery, both my partner and I greeted politely the working staff, only to get as a reply an impolite nod accompanied by a bored and aggresive stare. Not only that, but when I said that "we would like to buy some bread" in a joyful and polite manner, the only verbal response that we got was a sharp "WHICH?(bread)". After that, we thanked the person and left immediately, without purchasing anything. Maybe the products of the bakery are amazing, maybe not, but one is certain: I would never consider supporting such a business, especially with so many other bakeries around with far, far, far more welcoming and...

Incredible range of artisan breads with so many wonderful flavours and textures that you can discover your own favourite. There’s also a wide choice of sweet and savoury pastries - but bread is king here! Great value for the quality of products.

It’s a small shop so it’s a little frantic when there’s a queue but if you catch a quiet period it’s wonderful to check out the range… but to be honest, if Takis is quiet it probably means it’s sold out!

Takis is now a cult destination with amazing reviews and could take the easy option of offering a smaller range and focusing just on tourists - so it’s wonderful to see a bakery so committed to always creating a versatile variety of high quality breads and pastries. It's a very popular bakery in the vicinity of the Acropolis ... so don't be surprised to have to wait in line to get in! The wait is worth it and the service always friendly! 😊😊
