CANAAN — Local services in Tokyo

I was there in Nov 2024...Had a great hair cut but, the hair color was not so great. .. I've had my hair bleached and highlighted before. The process started well with the bleach. The highlight showed up until I believed my stylist had his assistant take over, and she did not tone my hair but ended up coloring it to a dark color! I don't know if it's the communication or what, but instead of admitting that they messed up on my hair color, they just tried to wash and lighten my hair over and over. I had to return the following day to lighten it again. The final result was a very light orange, not blonde. Because I didn't like it, they suggested bleaching my hair again, and that was an additional fee. This process took 2 days out of my vacation in Japan!

Like I said, I've had my hair colored and highlighted before, and the results were so much better than I had done at Cannan. I am not sure what happened or if it was a miscommunication error but I felt taken advantage of my $ due to being a foreigner.. i ended up paying alot more then that I expected....my experience with highlight color at Cannan was not a good one. 😒 Everyone was nice but..if you make a mistake please admit and make it right...or if you can't do a certain color...

I got a haircut at Canaan during my recent visit to Japan. I made my reservation on their website and although it's in Japanese, it was easy enough when you use the website translation.

The salon is located in Ginza in a multi story building with other salon and spas. It was very easy to find. Once you get out of the elevator, you'll be faced with the reception desk - the salon takes up the whole floor.

For those of you who are also just visiting Japan, you'll sign in and they'll take your purse and jacket and they will give you a small bag to put your cell phone in. You're then walked to a table for consultation where you're given magazines with different hairstyles to choose from. I brought pictures of what I wanted done. You're then taken to the back for shampoo and in my case I also opted for Keratin treatment. I almost fell asleep because of how good it was.

I definitely recommend coming here and ask for Kanna! I'll definitely be back when I visit...

I am extremely satisfied with the service at Canaan! I had my haircut and highlights done by Masahiko Uchiyama, and he did an outstanding job. He communicates very well in English and made sure to check every detail with me. The staff at Canaan are incredibly attentive, and their service is top-notch. They even offered drinks to both adults and children. When we brought my child and husband along near the end of my appointment, Masahiko was incredibly patient and kind, cutting my 2-year-old's hair with great care. After the haircut, he carefully removed the loose hairs from my child, which I really appreciated. My husband also got a haircut and a perm. Thank you, Masahiko!
