I attended this school for six months. I woke up every day excited to go to school and study Japanese. The teachers were very nice and patient, and could easily tell when a student was falling behind or if they didn't fully understand something. I struggled at the beginning due to not knowing any Japanese and starting three weeks late, but I quickly caught up thanks to the teaching skills of my teachers and the quality of the lessons. They talk exclusively in Japanese, but this serves to bolster the learning experience rather than hurting it. Not understanding what someone is saying in Japanese (or finding it difficult) is just part of the journey of learning a language, and it's best to start this journey sooner rather than later. They also have English speaking staff to help with important matters. I was put in a rather challenging class full of students with bad learning habits, such as copying other people's tests, speaking while the teacher is talking, and deciding to "survive" until the next lesson rather than trying to understand the material. Despite this, it didn't affect my learning ability at all, the teachers persevered and delivered a great learning experience, which was both enjoyable and valuable. I think my experience was rather rare, but if you do end up getting a class like mine: Don't copy other people's work, you're only cheating yourself. Pay attention to the teacher, everything they say is valuable. If you don't understand something, guess, get it wrong and find out why rather than just correcting it and moving on. Not knowing and learning will always be more valuable than pretending to know. Thank you to everyone who supported me at the school for the 6 months I attended. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I will miss you all. 私を忘れないでください。さようなら。

I did a two week 1-1 course as part of holiday. I started as an absolute beginner (British national) and am very happy with how much I was able to learn in such a short time. My teacher was very accommodating, kind and built the lessons around me and what I wanted to learn / my experience. We even got to read some Manga I bought! I cannot recommend enough. So much fun. The school is in a great location and reasonably priced. Great for people like me who want to learn some Japanese as part of a holiday. I was able to do half day lessons so I could also explore and even practice in real life the rest of the day. A fantastic experience and really good way to spend time in Japan.

I attended this school for five weeks and felt at home from the very first day. It was a fantastic experience, both with my classmates and with the teachers and all the staff. The school is not very large, which helps to create a welcoming atmosphere. The teachers are passionate and skilled at their jobs, and they are dedicated to involving every student, even in the larger classes. I noticed that some reviews mention issues such as small desks or having to leave your phone in a designated box during lessons. If you are not ready to embrace a new experience, respect Japanese culture, and, above all, follow the rules of a school, I would suggest that you stay comfortably at home. At 35 years old, as a fully grown adult with managerial responsibilities in my work, I had no difficulty respecting the rules and the work of others, and above all, immersing myself in the role of a student—which is, after all, what you become when you enroll in any school. Therefore, I highly recommend this school. Of course, everyone should evaluate their own situation, but regarding certain negative comments, I feel they hold no value, as they seem more like the complaints of spoiled children than genuine...

I had a fantastic time at Shinjuku Gyoen Language School. I felt at home from my very first day because of the kindness of my teachers and classmates. The teachers are enthusiastic about teaching, which made me look forward to class each day. I also really enjoyed getting to know my classmates from lots of different countries. This school provides a really unique opportunity to meet people from all over the world, and being able to converse in Japanese daily is a really great way to improve your language skills. I will truly cherish the memories I made at Shinjuku Gyoen Gakuin, and I really encourage anyone who would like to come to Japan and learn Japanese in a supportive environment to consider...
