I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the food at this restaurant. The braised lamb was fall-off-the-bone and the broth was flavourful. Originating from Tailang in Macau, I would say that their braised lamb is pretty unique in taste and unlike anything else I’ve had in KL.
I was here at lunch time when they have the Lamb Rice and Lamb Noodle on offer at RM19 each. The Rice version was excellent and is a better partner for the lamb broth. The noodles (yee mee, but it looked more like instant noodles) were soft and overcooked so it somewhat spoiled the enjoyment of the dish. Stick with the rice option in my opinion. Both the rice and noodles had slices of beancurd skin, bamboo shoot slices, jicama cubes and some green vegetables with lamb broth served in a bowl on the side. You can adjust the level of saltiness by adding some fermented beancurd sauce (available at the sauce station on the side), or add spiciness with the sliced chili padi or chilli sauce.
The Crispy Fried Pork was crispy and pretty decent, but did not have any particular outstanding aroma or flavour.
Food is cooked to order so be prepared for at least a 15 minute wait. Do give it a try if in this area of town. A rainy cold day would be...
Read moreOkay, I have to say this flavour of lamb pot is very subjective to everyone. I ordered small Lamb pot, they are generous with the meats/ lamb pieces but mostly attached with bones.
The broth is on the extreme thick side, according to them, it is considered “soup”. I cannot drink this by itself or on its own as “soup”. For me, it is very much a sauce like texture.. it gets too jelak if you drink it like soup.. but…. If you eat it with your rice, is a whole different level. It goes really really well with rice!!
But after a few scoops for me, I get jelak really fast.. I will only try this once and won’t return because it is not to my taste buds even though I am...
Read moreHaving tried the Kepong branch and Pudu branch on multiple occasions, I have no choice but to rate this low due to its lamb broth taste and overall service. All in all, I visited this restaurant four times.
The lamb broth is somewhat different from the one at Kepong (which I like a lot) and the after taste is incredibly strange compared to when it is served hot. The portion was smaller compared to the one at Kepong. I have come to this conclusion after second visit.
The staff is somewhat rude and inattentive to customers' call compared to the one in Kepong. I will not visit this outlet due to the lamb broth...
