I wanted to send my youngest brother a New Zealand souvenir from me for his birthday. I checked on line and chose the shop in Parnell called Fantail. Although it was Sunday the shop is open 7 days. I had to get three buses to get there but what a lovely experience. There was the most friendly shop assistant named Ruby ( I think she is from Canada) who just went out of her way to help me find what I wanted. Ruby spoke very affectionately of working with the owners of the shop and how much care they took of her and the shop. I chose 4 individual coasters with a different etched design on wood and framed with Pawa shell. I told Ruby my gift was being sent to the UK so she set to and wrapped my gift so well, there is no chance of damage while on its journey. All this while serving other customers at the same time.
The Fantail shop is lovely to browse around and has so many things that have been designed by wonderfull artists. I did not have a big budget but my gift shows artistic beauty which I know my brother will cherish. I will go to the Fantail shop for many of my Christmas...

She answered our questions, helped us with our purchase, and was so friendly that we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back. This is a wonderful place to stop by if you want beautifully made, high-quality, uniquely local gifts for friends or for yourself. 100% recommend and we will...
