The shopping Centre is well maintained, in fact the staff in this entire 5 floors are super helpful including the security staff. . So kudos to all of you all. Keep it up, it makes shopping a breeze.
However, the supermarket area in the basement falls behind and pales in comparison. The shelves placement are confusing, stacked in different directions, the items all over the place. The signage not visible enough; the bar code labeling not readable (waited 15 minutes to retrieve the bar code). The grouping of the items doesn’t make sense. The tills are slow, super slow. sM cashiers used to be a gem to watch, very fast and efficient even in the supermarket. The cashiers must be told to wipe the counter regularly but also especially because they handle frozen and fresh produce. On two occasions I was in this counter where clearly there were drippings from either meat or chicken (I mean really dripping not merely dampened). The cashier proceeded to with doing the scanning while the customer placed her items on the counter, the customer’s bag of toilet paper wet. When the customer was done, the cashier attempted to wipe the counter with a stack of brown bags she had which obviously did not solve the problem and made matters even worse. Yikes! That was very unhygienic. In another occasion, the direction of the queue was wrong whereby the bagger was in the way of the cashier. In another occasion the bagger tried in vain to fit the bag of toilet rolls in a brown bag that was very visibly smaller 🙈. All of these happened while the lady marked assistant manager was pacing through assisting with authorizing codes but did not pay attention with the situation at the tills and the customers’ care. I hope the SM management will take these issues seriously. I don’t blame the staff, I blame the SM Supermarket management. Please Invest in training your staff, they deserve that treatment and care...
Read moreNice and accessible location from hotels, like Dusit Thani, and other offices. They also have a nice selection of clothing stores and restaurants. The staff/sales personnel at SM store clothing department are friendly, accommodating and helpful.
The only reason why I'm giving 2 stars is due to poor customer service from the staff at the money exchange place located inside the SM grocery store, bottom floor. As we are tourists holding foreign passports, my mom presented her foreign passport at the SM exchange store to convert our Canadian dollar to Philippine peso. The staff at the exchange store refused to accept our passport, and instead asked for a Philippine ID. (Pls note we are not dual citizens.)
I find this ridiculous because passports are international IDs and MUST be accepted. Nowhere in the policy does it state that the valid ID presented must be a Philippine ID. The policy (which is clearly outlined at the store) only states valid government issued ID. It's a money exchange place and as long as the valid ID is issued by a government (even if it's foreign), a foreign passport SHOULD be allowed.
If you're a foreigner/have a foreign passport, beware!! I recommend going to a different place to get your money exchanged. I hope that better training is provided for the staff at the...

SM Makati is a well-connected shopping destination, easily accessible by various modes of transport. Its strategic location and ample parking facilities make it a convenient choice for shoppers.
The mall offers a diverse range of shops and restaurants, catering to a wide variety of tastes. However, it lacks a cinema, which might be a disappointment for movie enthusiasts. Additionally, the restrooms, while clean, do not have bidets, which can be an inconvenience for some visitors.

Cons:
No cinema Lack of bidets in restrooms
Overall, SM Makati is a decent shopping mall, but its shortcomings, such as the absence of a cinema and bidets, may hinder its appeal to...
