Museum Superstore — Local services in London

I’m posting this because my friend does not feel safe to do so. A few days ago we came to the souvenir shop after the museum, I waited outside while my friend went in to grab some souvenirs for her family. Once in the store the clerk told her she wasn’t allowed in the shop, after she questioned him multiple times as to why he point blank said to her “because you’re Arab, and I don’t like arabs”. She came back to our group in tears, and went back to take a picture in case we decided to go to the police. After taking the photo he ducked and then began screaming at her and chased her in the street. I’ve seen many of your other reviews excusing the behaviour of this employee, but this is a blatant human rights violation. I would like assuredness that this employee will be terminated for his blatant racism. My friend was devastated. If actions are not taken I have all the time in the world to pursue legal recourse. This is absolutely inexcusable, you should not own a business if you cannot protect your customers and choose to turn a blind eye to ignore such horrific behaviour. I was panicking on Friday afternoon, 20th October 2023 to get some souvenir keyrings and fridge magnets for my wife’s family in the Philippines, panicking because we fly on Wednesday morning, a tight squeeze with delivery etc for anyone to cope with. I found Faisal’s company by sheer luck, his website was was sharp and the product stood out as being quality. I contacted him straight away, I was expecting a long wait for a response but to my surprise there he was within a minute of my request with a reply, communication with him was spot on, he couldn’t have been more helpful or done anymore to help. I gave him a budget and a deadline and he surpassed both with ease. He put together a great mix and the package arrived Saturday morning at 9.00am, we were over the moon with the delivery and the quality, as a great touch he added a packet of chocolate bars and a great tin of travel mints in a lovely London themed tin, fantastic. I would highly recommend his service, I will definitely use his services again. I had a very unpleasant experience at this shop. I was checking and reading the product labeling in different tea can packaging. The staff at the counter saw and told me it was the same tea type despite in different cans. What he said was different from the product labeling. It feels like the staff is intentionally dishonest. To make matters worse, I was offensively asked to open my bag as if I were suspected of something upon leaving?! There were no clear signs indicating this policy, and the manner in which it was requested was rude and accusatory.

Definitely not a place I’ll be returning to, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others. There are many other souvenir or gift shops that respect their customers and provide...
