Absolutely shocked at how unprofessionally the manager Olly spoke to my niece Bella this morning. I was in the next room and heard her nursing this man’s ego so he wouldn’t be hurt by her feedback of the negative experience she had. Where the the £400 perm didn’t take to the top 10 inches of her head.
She was booked to go back in today so they could make it right with a patch test and a follow up perm on the fringe where the perm was unsuccessful the first time. She was expecting this for free as the stylist had promised they would sort it for free. But all I could hear was him saying ‘it’s not our problem’ about 5 times.
She had an awful experience and was willing to go back so they could rectify the situation. But instead he said they would charge £10 for the patch test & £120 to fix it. On top of the £400 she already spent. Because she 'left it too late' to return. Despite her booking in at the earliest possible date she could as she had been away. He said 'its not our problem you decided to go away on holiday'. In fact Bella has been up north caring for her very poorly disabled mother. But she would never tell you that.
My niece is a very reasonable person and as such said she wouldn’t leave a negative review on google as she’d never wish to hurt a business but luckily I am not my niece and would never accept this awful behaviour from anyone.
She offered to send Olly feedback via email instead of a bad review to which he responded: ‘any feedback from you will be taken on the chin’.
I’m sorry My Stephens but No! Just No! The customer is always right.
You don’t treat customers like this.
Not only is she down £400 from a perm that didn’t give her good results, due to negligence from your stylist not informing her about the dos and don’ts of pre-perm care. She has had her day ruined by such a rude call from you.
She had said she wanted to tell you about it sooner but didn’t because she doesn't like confrontation and was worried about being met with hostility (as you had been hostile towards her in the salon) - you said she needed to 'man up'. Well, no wonder she was nervous about speaking with you.
Bella wants to let this experience go - but I’m not letting it go.
You need to rectify this either with a full refund or by sorting out the problem for free as...

He also gives me lots of tips and suggestions for looking after my hair and knows styles that suit me that I would never have thought of. I couldn’t recommend Oliver Stephens hair salon more - every time I go I am pampered to the max - feel completely at home - and leave feeling a million dollars - he’s uses the latest products that do not damage your hair and actually makes it healthier. When I went to him all those years ago my hair was in terrible condition and I cannot tell you how much it has improved despite changing colour (from dark to blonde to black to blonde again and using extensions. I've been getting perms for the past 5 years, and this is genuinely the best one I've had yet. Not only am I super happy with the quality of the result (which is brilliant, and rivals other top salons in London), but I also found the whole experience at the Salon lovely. Perms can be a bit of an ordeal sometimes - especially as I have a lot of hair and like a tight curl - but Prerna ensured I was comfortable the whole time when putting in the rollers, ensured no perming solution got on my skin or clothes, and even added in a pleasant massage when washing my hair. She also did a brilliant job of styling the perm afterwards, and took the time to talk me through some styling tips for my curls. The perm itself is really lovely. The organic perm is kinder to your hair and, when done well, results in a natural curl that lasts well. I'm so glad I have found this salon after my old place closed down!...
