Do not come here if you are used to an experienced technician! Unfortunately my gel X nails were lifting and they would not be able to last until I was able to get home to my usual technician to get them redone. I went in to paint nails in person to ensure that they would be able to remove the extensive 3D gel X nails I had and redo them with just a basic chrome colour and BIAB.

The technician was well out of her depth. I have never had my arm and fingers twisted the way that this technician did, whilst telling me I needed to relax and stop moving my arm while I had to hold it up in the air for her?? From the moment she began to try (key word) remove my gel X I knew she had very little professional training (if any). I have a least 3 small cuts from her filing my nails and the whole process was nerve racking. Then came putting on the biab… I can’t even explain the clear complete lack of knowledge she had doing this. Wayyy too much product that didn’t cure properly and so uneven. I could tell she was stressed doing them and I was even more stressed getting them!! Usually this would take my usual nail tech approx an hour for removal and biab application, I was there for 2.5 hours with no gel colour over top (even though I had asked for it in person, it wasn’t booked) and just wanted to leave by the end. My nails came out with visible brush marks and look clumpy and uneven.

For removal and ONLY biab it was £120. This is what I would pay my usual nail tech for all of this AND advanced nail art!! I have never had such a bad experience and nail job! Left there and just looked at my nails and cried.

I booked a gel mani with nail art at Paint based on how good the reviews were. When I first arrived at the salon and waited at the front desk to ask if there was anyone available because I'd gotten to the appointment early, the receptionist had no awareness of me standing in front of her and it was a nail tech who eventually asked if I was okay. Despite saying that I wouldn't mind coming back if they couldn't see me earlier than my scheduled appointment time, I was told I would be seen within 10 minutes but I ended up waiting half an hour until my actual appointment time because they'd 'forgotten to check me in'. I then found out I was going to have a different nail tech doing the nail art, which I was told was due to the system but I've never had that issue at any other salon I've been to that has a similar booking system. I had to wait over 10 minutes for the second nail tech to start the nail art because she was still with a customer. One of the nail techs who was sat next to the one doing my nails was quite hostile towards the other nail techs and dismissive towards me. She took over from the nail tech doing my nail art, and when I went to go and look at the lines she'd done as part of the design I'd asked for she very bluntly told me 'they're fine', even though she'd not done them properly and they were faint at one end and I had to ask the original nail tech to redo them. The only positive thing I can say is the two nail techs I'd actually been booked with were genuinely lovely. …when I first read all the reviews …I couldn’t believe that everyone was so excited and happy about this place … all the reviews were absolutely “raving “ about this place… I just had my nails done at Chi Nails or shall I say they took off the extensions and left it …sad no nail polish, nothing… it looked like a tragedy… So I run to PAINT Nails and I showed the ladies my “disaster “. They were both shocked and sad and booked me in. I had a fashion event happening, and I couldn’t show up looking bad. The lady that was doing my nails was Dasha. An absolute star! A legend! A saviour! An artist! The eye for the detail, patience and precision was beyond anything I’ve expected. She was fun and kind, and took an absolute care of my nails. She wasn’t rushing and I felt extremely comfortable, because I could see she wanted to make my nails look perfectly. I had BIAB, my nails were extended in an almond/stiletto shape painted black. I couldn’t believe how beautiful my hands and nails looked. Very sorry for leaving the comment and review so late. If you doubt this place-please don’t. I’ll come back soon. And I’ll definitely recommend the quality and the products they use. Everyone was lovely it was clean and tidy. Perfect. Oh and gentlemen are also welcome so that’s quite nice. You don’t have to feel weird or intimidated.
