In this corporate controlled world I wanted to take the time to give a shout out to the ladies working the day shift here at the Allen Park, Dunhams! We wanted to buy the kids something cool and fun to play with outside and they had the Spaulding 54â backboard on sale for $379, and we had a few extra bucks from our tax returns so we splurged.
All in all it was pretty simple to assemble on my own but I did need a few helping hands towards the end. The instructions were easy to follow and there werenât any missing pieces. Except the glass backboard had been damaged in transit, it happens. Unknown to me, because when I got it home I just started with the base and left the protective wrapping on the backboard to keep it from getting damaged. Well most places would make your reorder the part from the manufacturer and the kids would be SOL for some Easter Day basketball in the driveway. But these awesome people parted out the extra one they had on hand and even had it waiting for me when I got the damaged one back to store. And were very understanding!!
I even beat everyone at PIG this morning!Happy Easter indeed, thank you very much and you know who you are! People helping people and these people really helped us out!...

But then found $2 to give cashier to not break a $100. Cashier got all confused and gave customer a $20 bill back and shut drawer. Customer showed cashier 20 and cashier had to call manager to open drawer. Now customer was waiting. So he bought a couple pieces of candy with 20 so cashier could ring up and open drawer and correct mistake but cashier gave change back for 20 and closed drawer. Still didn't give customer his other $80 back. Now manager closed register and took drawer in back to count to see what was wrong. And told customer "we have cameras". Rest of customers had to go into another line. Poor guy just bought a pop for $82 and 50 cent. Pretty simple but cashier was so confused. Wonder how long he had to wait. Hope he got...

Being less patient I went on a quest for employees. It took me 5 minutes to find an employee, and they seemed apathetic when I told them there was a gentleman who had been waiting for 20 minutes at the gun counter.
I stopped at a cash register on the way out, found a singular employee lounging and looking bored. Asked him to pass a message to the Manager regarding my dissatisfaction with my experience. The kid just looked at me and breathed through his mouth. No acknowledgement. When I gave up and said, "Have a great day", he finally responded with "No problem".
It seems apparent that this particular store is seriously lacking in customer service, or even an awareness of customers. I'll...
