I went inside HEB today to purchase roses for my dad’s death anniversary. I usually go to the location off of Blackhawk and Beltway but since I moved to humble, I went to this location. I walked in, picked out my roses and proceeded to walk to the floral counter. A sales associate Reyna was blowing up balloons asked what I wanted. I asked her if she can wrap the roses and she replied, with an attitude “they are already wrapped”. The floral associate Ms. Barbara, an older black lady, said “they are wrapped already. You just have to take off the plastic and put inside the vase.” I replied to both of them “can I please just have them wrap. They aren’t going to a vase, they are going on a gravesite.” The floral associate took them from me and proceeded to wrap them. The floral associate gave me the plastic wrap that it came with with the barcode in order for me to pay for it. I cut the barcode out and balled up the rest of the wrapping paper to throw away the excess. When the floral associate said “you need to pay for those” I said “I know. It’s just too much wrapping paper to carry. Im not going to steal it , im on camera.” The floral associate said with attitude “I didn’t say that” and rolled her eyes. When she finished I took my roses and paid at the self service and left. Today marks the 11th year of my fathers passing and those two associate gave me such rudeness and attitude that I was not expecting because this HEB is typically super nice and helpful. But I’ll just make the drive to the other location to get better customer service because those two associate weren’t it, AT ALL.

I purchased HEB Bakery garlic munchies and when I was biting into one of them I bit into a triangular shard of plastic. I noticed as I was chewing and had to remove it from my mouth to get a better look, I was very disappointed. Upon contacting HEB customer service via the app and curbside help option I was emailed back a remedial, generic response and automatically refunded the $3 and something change I spent on the garlic munchies. I had not even asked for the refund but I'll assume the rep viewed that as the best option to "make this right". I have no idea what kind of follow-up measures they will take to make sure this never happens again or to find out why or how it happened at their in-store HEB Bakery. It's more than those $3 and few cents, it's the principle. I could have chipped a tooth or swallowed something sharp and injured myself internally. Their customer service response to a matter as serious as this one was dismissive, to say the least. It was not taken serious at all. Perhaps this happens all the time? Either way, this type of recklessness tends to lead to its own demise sooner than later. I will leave 2 stars because I do get my curbside pick up orders from here on a weekly basis but that may change after this. I'm considering switching to Walmart because of the pricing of products in general and just the fact that Walmart has a wider selection of plant-based products on their app. HEB also does not include all of their plant-based products in their curbside selection so Walmart's curbside department is already ahead of the game when it comes to that.

I like HEB in general and am in HEB stores on average about 3 times a week, but Summerwood by far is one of the worst locations. Management is pretty dismissive on issues (though the person at the customer service desk is actually great). This location is always out of items, they don’t always honor their coupons, and it’s hard to shop due to stockers and curbside (they force you out of the way). But I’m writing this review due to multiple food issues and trouble getting a resolution. I’ve had multiple yogurts with puncture holes in the lid from this location, but more troubling is multiple instances of mold in sealed jerky packages. It looks like someone had an old batch and mixed it in with a new batch (either the manufacturer or this location). And it’s not like it was on the shelf long, as they sell out quickly (to the point I sometimes have to grab a new box from behind an empty one). I buy this product a lot both at HEBs across the state and at the manufacturer themselves, and this HEB is the only place I have had mold issues with this product. More concerning is neither the location nor the main office seemed to be concerned, and I had trouble even getting it replaced. Customer service at the store made it right, but I haven’t heard from anyone else.

It saddens me that I have to leave such a disheartening review in regards to my recent experience here at a local HEB. I went into the store tonight to grab a few things for my youngest daughter who was not feeling well and has spent most of today in the hospital. Upon checking out at the register I was approached by a cashier who began to interrogate me about the details of my purchase well before I was able to complete my transaction. Her name is Isabella or Isabel & was not accommodating or pleasant in any regard to say the least. While at the self check out line, she walked up to my basket and made a statement saying “you have a charger.” As I looked around in confusion, not certain if she was speaking to me or not, I asked her if she could repeat herself.

She then reiterated her comment with a blank stare on her face. I proceeded to say OK, because I was visibly confused as to why she had made such a comment about the details of my basket unwarranted and out of the blue. She then comes closer into my personal space, reaches her arm in the basket to confiscate the charger and tells me again, I have a charger as if I was unaware of why I was buying. While holding up the charger mid air she ask me if I intended to pay for it because if I didn’t then she can put it back.

Not once did I motion her to come over for assistance, I had not even selected my method of payment, & nor was I walking out the store. I am not sure what encouraged her to ask me such a thing especially since I was in the middle of checking out my merchandise. I had two chargers in my basket for the purpose of processing two separate transactions.

One of the chargers was for myself and the other charger was for my oldest daughter who was had her own method of payment. I clarified to her that I have two chargers because I am purchasing them separately and she then says “well thank you for telling me because how was I supposed to know that?” Attempting to gather myself, I completed the transaction and left the store.

While on the way to my car my daughter let me know that this interaction made her very uncomfortable. The cashier intentionally made my daughter feel as if she/we were being discriminated against and accused of stealing a charger indirectly. I frequent this particular store a few times a week, and never in my life have I been approached with such discriminatory behavior.

I am almost certain that protocol is not to invade a customers personal space, grab items out of their cart to question them if they are going to pay for them or not, threaten to put their items back, and ask out loud about the specific details for their method of payment.

I left out of the store feeling very upset and emotionally disturbed by what I had encountered. Immediately after, I went back in to speak with a manager. Gabby is the supervisor who I spoke with about what happened during the process of my transaction. I asked her if an associate is supposed to grab a customers item to ask them if they are going to pay for it and she confirmed that this is not policy nor is that acceptable behavior.

Gabby was extremely understanding/ accommodating and offered to honor my request of a full refund . As a consumer, I refuse to be discriminated against and interrogated for making a purchase. Tonight I was treated as if I was a criminal who had intentions on coming into a store to steal merchandise.

Over the years, I have only shopped at H-E-B exclusively & NEVER have I’ve been treated with this level of disrespect. I proceeded to go across the street to spend my hard earned money elsewhere. I honestly can not believe that I had to go through this. I even fought with myself for well over 30 minutes, trying to figure out what would have made her approach me in this manner. To be completely transparent I’m having a really hard time believing that race was not determining factor!

As an African-American woman, I deserve to be treated with the same level of respect as anyone else who comes to the store to have pleasant shopping experience. HEB…do...

Good morning H-E-B owner(s) of this establishment. I know this is an unusual review, but I want to bring to your attention the fact that people are using multiple accounts on Favor, which is against the policy. I've seen some drivers back-to-back because this H-E-B is not checking IDs to verify if an order includes alcohol. It is essential to check all Favor Runners or Drivers without exceptions. Some drivers and I don't mind providing our driver's licenses so we can be authorized to pick up and deliver the groceries. I've seen some drivers in the same car with the same plate. This indicates that the wife drives on weekdays and her husband uses the same exact car on weekends. Obviously, they are using the same account, but Favor thinks it's the same driver using the same account, which is not the case. This is pretty unfair to everybody, so I think this H-E-B needs to implement a policy requiring driver's licenses to match the same name on the Favor Runner app. Imagine if all legitimate drivers were deactivated while all illegal or fake accounts continue to operate. The IRS might hold you accountable, as well as the driver. I just want to prevent this H-E-B store or any other stores from being unwilling to change by requiring driver's licenses. This protects honest drivers, customers, and the store. Illegals shouldn't have any business to start with because it is hurting the economy. People might not see this as the economy depleting slowly. Money could be going out of the country or to whoever is making money. Hackers make accounts for drivers, usually non-citizens (Cubans, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Africans, Middle Easterners, Americans with Felony Records, etc.) all over the Texas. I don't know who I am supposed to mention this to - H-E-B or Favor, because they point the finger at each other. Favor handles the issue, but H-E-B acquired Favor Delivery in 2018, so I am supposed to talk to H-E-B. However, Favor didn't do anything from Austin. I just wish they were here in Houston to investigate. There are a lot of accounts, which means they come back too fast, meaning they're not account holders, which means they are making extra accounts. This could lead to the economy depleting slowly, maybe even to a depression, because of stolen or false accounts being created. In the last few days, it may be slow, but there are a few drivers hurting other drivers by not making money or getting orders. Maybe they are using bots to get good orders, so lately, I don't see any good orders because of a few drivers. I tried to talk to another driver to see what's going on. He said he tried to talk to the curbside team manager about the issues, but they said they don't care. So I told him all they care about is getting orders delivered, but the problem is what if fraud drivers get caught by the IRS or bad accounts, and you guys might not get drivers in the long run because of a crime ring of accounts being sold on the dark web or forums, especially outside the USA. Some H-E-Bs like League City are checking driver's licenses because I know some drivers don't have valid driver's licenses, which is why they are using fake accounts. That's why they avoid alcohol orders, which is an option in the Favor Runner app. I just want the owner to know about this issue since the curbside teams or managers are not doing anything about it. I just thought I should write this review in the hope that it will bring about some changes. I noticed I don't see the same customers or orders starting to get reduced, so I understand that the new Madera Run is taking customers that I usually don't see anymore. Sometimes I go there to do it, so I can assure you that fake account holders might not read English. Maybe their language is French, Spanish, or another language. Let's say if a customer said "don't ring" but they deliver and ring the doorbell instead? It happens often or all the time. That makes some customers stop ordering, so that's why I don't want it to happen...

I have shopped at this store since it opened . Until recently I had never had a bad experience . I was banned from the store because a self check out associate reported me for what I don’t know lol . I am a disabled veteran and have had five major operations on my leg and can’t stand for a prolonged period of time . I went in the store at 7 am to avoid long lines . On this day , I asked the associate , Isabella , if I could go through the line because I could not stand that long . I was the only person in the line that morning and there was only one lane open. Isabella looked at me with the most disgusting look and I said can I go through and she said , “ I said yes”. So I followed up by saying I am a disabled person and this store has no way to accommodate us and I don’t need your attitude . She proceeded to go tell a store manager that I was rude . The manager did not approach me to see if she could help mitigate the situation . She simply escorted me to an open register . I was so embarrassed and emotional from the mistreatment that I walked out of the store . The manager , Jerry , came to me and I tried to tell him how I felt as a customer . He did nothing to try to help me as a customer or disabled person . About two weeks later , I went back into the store . Had been back on several occasions with no problems. I went to self checkout and I noticed that Isabel recognized me . I immediately got scared and FaceTimed my daughter to have as a witness in case anything happened to me . Mark , the manager on duty , approached me and told me to stop recording on my phone . First of all , he had no right to speak to me in that manner and no authority to tell me to get off of my phone. . He then proceeded to tell me to get out of his store . My business is no longer welcome . I said why and he said because I got into with Isabel . I said do you have proof ? And he said we have a video of you in the store . I said show me proof and he has none . He followed me out of the store harassing me . And took down my address and had the sheriff deputies come to my home in five car loads of cops like I was fugitive. How embarrassing and unnecessary. They told me that my business was no longer wanted or I’d be arrested for trespassing. Today my daughter went to the store to get her meds and they had someone follow her through out the store . The store manager , Jerry and another person followed her as well until she asked if there was a problem . They asked her to leave and she said why ? I’m not my mother . They had security escort her out of the parking lot . She was not banned . I was . The deputy was also rude and abusive with her power . This harassment is unnecessary and unwarranted . All because I asked to be accommodated as a disabled person with impairments and restrictions .. I will file a complaint with Texas attorney general tomorrow morning for discrimination , racism...
