First time here! There were so many entrances, so I picked one, walked in, and beelined to the first counter I saw. Being that it was my first time, I wasn’t aware that I was at the wrong counter and the employees behind the counter stared at me like, clearly you’re lost. I was. I felt silly and I wish they had been kind enough to direct me where I should have been to place a to-go order.
The hostess spots me and pulls my attention to the front to be seated. I inform her I’m interested in placing a to go order so she walks away to grab me a menu and tells me I need to speak with the bartender. I’m standing awkwardly on the side of the bar because once again I’m not clear on where I should be. So the bartender was kind and asked if I it was my first time. He suggested some popular dishes and told me about some of his favs. I ordered, paid, and sat while my food was prepared.
The music was nice and the wait wasn’t very long. I received my food and left the restaurant. I live pretty close so my food was still piping hot when I got home to eat. The little plastic containers my sides were in were so hot to the touch that I couldn’t get to my food. I appreciate having hot/fresh food, but it took a while for me to pry open the container to get to my food.
With all of that being said, the food was delicious!! I ordered (forgot the name of the dish) grilled fish/shrimp with white rice and green beans. Very flavorful. I also ordered a cup of crawfish etouffe. It was also pretty good. I will definitely return to try...
Read moreI spoke highly of this place to my sister because it's her birthday. One of the things we ordered was boudin balls which was overly fried, not battered and tasted like the rice was fried which was horrible. I expressed my concern with the taste with the waitress Demaya, who by the way was amazing. She told the manager who said no she wasn't taking it off the ticket because we already ate some so I told the waitress it was okay. So they give you a cake on your birthday. My sister asked for peach cobbler. We had just got our food and the young lady brought out a pound cake. I said oh we asked for peach cobbler and plus we just got our food. She expressed that she told the cook we wanted peach cobbler and he told her it wasn't done and gave her the cake. We told her we will wait for the cobbler to get done. When it was time she said the cook said he already put the cake on the plate and we would have to pay for the cobbler. First we never asked for pound cake we asked for peach cobbler and DeMaya the waitress was very apologetic which it wasn't her fault. So I asked her were the manager and cook in a relationship and mad at each other and she said there married and own the place. Which made since why they were all in certain peoples gace laughing. Plus I ordered to go food which had 4 pieces of shrimp and I didn't say anything at all. FYI IF A CUSTOMER COMPLAINS ITS BEST YOU...
Read moreI went 10/6/23 and I was very disappointed in the food compared to when I went a month ago. I got the potato with the crawfish, shrimp and sausage. I hand a chance to talk to the owner and I told her how good the food was and I’d be back. She told me her favorite was the shrimp and grits and I just couldn’t wait to get back. The shrimp and grits was too spicy for me to enjoy. I eat spicy, but that was a bit much. I told the waitress I needed to order something else, so I went with the potato again. She told me that it would be spicy as well because they use the same sauce and I told her it wasn’t spicy the last time. So she said she would tell them not to make it spicy ( I should have just gotten boudin) On this day the potato was literally trash compared to my first visit. Presentation was horrible! The creamy sausage had been watered down. The shrimp were kind of rubbery which made me believe it was farmed raised. Like I stated earlier it was trash. Even on my shrimp and grits the sauce was watery. My husband doesn’t like to complain or send food back, so he said be take it home. And also the couple of bites of shrimp and grits, the grits were hard. To sum it up as far as the food, it went from an A+ to a F. Maybe they had new cooks or cooks in training. This night was very, very...
