I have a lot to say about Altitude. For those who want the short version: I wouldn't choose to live here, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. There are plenty of other great places nearby - live there instead. For everyone else, read on. I have lived here for a number of years, through two different brands and several different management companies. The same issues have existed throughout, and have only seemed to get worse over time. Pros (in the interest of fairness): - The property is very well located for anyone who works in downtown/midtown. - The units themselves have tall ceilings and (depending on which side of the building you're in) great views. - The maintenance team is responsive to tickets, and have been very pleasant to deal with every time that I've needed assistance. Cons (by category): Security & Safety: -Elevators are jam packed and it is impossible for residents to socially distance. Stepping in the elevator here is easily the most dangerous thing I do on a given day. -There are definitely issues with the security of the building. Several times, the entry doors have been completely destroyed by what appeared to be forced entry. (Think broken latches & that type of thing.) Last month we were notified that a kidnapping took place in the building. -Residents used to only be able to use their key fobs to access their specific floor, but is no longer appears to be the case. As a result, there has been an increase in the number of people wandering the halls at odd hours of the day and people tailgating you in the elevator. -There are seems to be a high number of sub-leased / short term rental units in the building (think AirBnB). -On a pretty consistent basis, there are a number of loud parties that occur late into the night. -The smell of smoke from cigarettes and other things is a near constant. Neither is supposed to be permitted under the terms of residents' leases. (I've had guests recoil from the scent upon entering the residential floors.) Common Area Maintenance: -The elevator situation here is out of hand. Of the three elevators, one is semi-permanently out of order, the other two go down periodically. I've waited as long as 30 minutes to catch an elevator before. There are two parking elevators, one of which has been down for four plus weeks at this point. -Residents have a tendency to not mind after their pets. There is often pet debris on the floors in the common areas, on the patio, in the elevators, etc. -There is a general, visible wear and tear throughout the common area spaces. Cracked glass panels in the elevators, scratched doors, dents in the walls, etc. -The fitness center (back in the day when it was open to residents) often had equipment damaged or out of order for extended periods. Other: -The guest parking situation is bad. There used to be tags that could be loaned from the office for guests, but this was discontinued after they went unreturned. Now, guest have to pay full price at the hotel garage. (BONUS: Some of the stolen tags appear to still be in use, so I guess they were never deactivated.) -There is extreme turnover with the staff in the leasing office. Issues communicated to representative never seem to make it to the next one, meaning you get to start from square zero every time. This property should have every advantage with its proximity to downtown businesses, restaurants, and transit. Despite this, Altitude continues to be a lackluster dwelling at a luxury pricepoint. Stay far away.

tl;dr RUN AWAY, FAST (make sure you notice how the majority of the positive reviews are based on tours by leasing and are incentive reviews. If you want to know the real truth, just stop by and ask anybody who lives there. We often joke about it as we wait upwards of 15 minutes for the elevators.) This is the most horrendous apartment building I have ever seen in my life. I moved from out of state on a short timeline, and used a real estate agent who did a tour for me virtually and I signed the contract based on trusting him. Once I started to try to move in, everything went downhill. There is no temporary parking and though I asked to reserve the freight elevator, they said it’s unavailable. The guy who leased the apartment to me didn’t even work there by the time I got there so they didn’t have any of my move-in paperwork and tried to charge me a higher amount for deposit. Also I have 10 years of perfect rental history and pay stubs, but they said I needed to give an additional deposit so it was double the amount, which makes me wonder what type of tenant they charge only a regular deposit to. The interior of the building is completely trashed and in disrepair, and it constantly reeks of smoke and trash. There is no way to allow guests or deliveries up, so there is no way to have no-contact delivery. Some doors are broken so people are always walking in and out at will, and the leasing office is part of the amenities, so they close this area down when they leave so you don’t have access. Forget the patio completely because dogs pee and poop all over every square inch of outside, not to mention inside elevators and hallways and nothing is enforced. Packages are to be delivered into a package room, but again, you can’t let anyone in, so Amazon drivers are often leaving packages in random locations because they can’t get into the room. The package lockers are often full so packages are just left out, and it is amazing how quickly they get stolen. By the time you get a delivery notification and take the elevator down to grab it, it’s no longer in the location shown in the photo. The leasing office doesn’t care at all and says to file a police report but packages are never recovered because they do not pursue theft by other residents. Loud parties and loud residents at all times of day and night. People smoking even in the elevator as you’re riding. It’s just a horrible experience overall, and the prices are so much higher than other apartments that are cleaner and better run. It’s really sad because it’s a good downtown location, but the management is absolute garbage and they allow poorly behaved residents to trash the place. Please stay far far away. The majority of reviews are written just for leasing incentives based on tours and are NOT reflective of the actual living conditions. This building should be condemned by the city inspector. I’m sure the office will reach out to say it’s not true, but I’ve been in the hotel on several occasions lately and have stopped by just to check if they got their act together. Spoiler alert- they didn’t.

UPDATED: After management left their response on my post, I called and emailed the property to follow up. No response, as I expected. ... and yes, as mentioned by another reviewer, the corridors/the stairwells were filled with TRASH! It's like people just open the stair doors, and throw their trash down the steps. Stayed here for a conference next door at the Hilton. Nice location, decorated nicely. 1. The bed linens need to be replaced, the old and worn black sheet set needs to go. They are tattered, and have little white fuzz balls on them. I'm glad there were extra linens, I used the white linen/sheets as they looked cleaner. 2. The bathroom soap dish in the shower has black stuff in it, not sure what that is. ... and the drain in the bathroom isn't secure. When I stepped into the shower the drain cap moved, and it scraped my foot. 3... the gnats. Why, are there so many gnats in the building and apartment? Must be some mold or standing water somewhere in here. 4. The parking garage scraped the top of our truck. 5. Only one elevator was working, and there are no luggage carts to transport items with. We'll there was one, and the maintenance mam was using it. All and all, it looks nice, but I wouldn't stay here again.

The good: There's no denying that these apartments are pretty and the views are killer. The location is very convenient with easy access to I-75. The new management that started in December of 2017 seems to be an improvement from the original company. Security is pretty tight here. You need a key FOB to get anywhere and you can only access your floor. Now, this can definitely get annoying when you have visitors as you basically have to escort them in and out of the building. There definitely has to be a more efficient way to buzz in guests. What's the point of having call boxes if you still have to take two elevators to escort your guests in and out of the building?

The bad/ugly/annoying: If you enjoy getting uninterrupted sleep and are looking for a quiet/calm place to live, this is definitely NOT the complex for you. The walls are ridiculously thin and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. And when I say everything, I mean EVERY. SINGLE. THING. I know things about my neighbors that you should never need to know about anyone! I actually considered cutting my lease short because my neighbors kept me up all night, every night. It was so bad that I actually started to get in trouble at work because I was so out of it due to lack of sleep. The only reason I stayed is because they decided to moved out after I communicated the intent to cut my lease short to management after putting in complaints for months. I got new neighbors and it was back to square one-- so it is definitely safe to say that this is the kind of place where your neighbors can make or break your experience.

The apartments are also equipped with built-in speakers, which IS pretty awesome… until your neighbors are playing their loud music every night until 6 in the morning. It can get tiring and annoying quickly.

While I have seen a more diverse group of residents as of lately, it is mostly a younger crowd that lives here. This means A LOT(seriously, a lot…) of loud parties, people acting crazy in the hallways, and a constant smell of marijuana. If this bothers you, then this is not the place for you.

My second issue with this place is the parking. I understand that there are complexities associated with sharing a garage with a hotel, but for $50 a month it really should not be this bad. Parking is extremely tight and hard to maneuver. My car got more "mysterious" dents and scratches in the year that I lived here than in the entire 8 years I've had it. I even had a huge chunk of concrete fall on the roof of my car, which left a huge dent on it. The parking management assumes no liability, so if anything happens it's on you. Also, there is NO guest parking. If you have people over, they will have to pay $10 an hour. I had family from out of state staying with me for a couple of days and tried to figure out something that wasn’t so expensive, and was simply told to use the parking garage across the street instead, and that "that's what I get for living in the city". REALLY?! This isn't NYC. It's actually a bummer because these apartments are great for entertaining, but unless your guests Uber here, they're pretty much screwed. Safe to say your friends will stop wanting to come over pretty quickly.

Another issue is that the elevators are frequently down. This may not seem like much, but when you have 20 floors worth of people trying to leave for/coming home from work, it gets frustrating and the wait times can be pretty long when you only have one elevator working.

The amenities here are pretty nice. The pool, however, is a different story. It's a relatively small pool and people bring what seems like an entire block worth of people with them, so the pool and the clubhouse can get pretty packed with people who aren't even residents. Needless to say, it turns into party central during the summer so if you're looking to relax and lay out by the pool, good luck with that!

All in all, I really did like my actual apartment but, sadly, it wasn’t enough for me to want to put up with all the other cons of...

Pros (in the interest of fairness): The property is very well located for anyone who works in downtown/midtown. The units themselves have tall ceilings and (depending on which side of the building you're in) great views. The maintenance team is responsive to tickets, and have been very pleasant to deal with every time that I've needed assistance.

Cons (by category):

Security & Safety: -Elevators are jam packed and it is impossible for residents to socially distance. Stepping in the elevator here is easily the most dangerous thing I do on a given day. -There are definitely issues with the security of the building.

Despite this, Altitude continues to be a lackluster dwelling at a luxury pricepoint....

So glad my lease is up here. LOVE my apartment but the staff and parking is HORRIBLE!

Also, it looks like they have officially changed their name from The Office Apartments to Altitude Apartments...wonder why!

Like seriously, I know this review is long but I had to give out all the details and you'll def want to read if you are thinking of moving here.

I'll start off with parking. OMG the parking is the WORST!!! I want to pull my hair out just thinking about it. If you have frequent visitors do NOT rely on them having somewhere to park because chances are slim to none. The building is attached to the Hilton Hotel so we share parking in the Hiltons Parking Garage. Prior to signing my lease, Nick (my leasing agent) gave me a couple different options for guest parking but none were factual. When I first moved here, we were given parking tags that went in the car that we could move from car to car to let guests in and out, which was a hassle, but whatever, I got used to it. Then shortly after, they deactivated all the tags and we moved to the old school sticker activated decals. The sticker is damn near glued to your car window so there's no way you can remove it each time for your guest. During that time for about a month, there was no guest parking solution so our guests had to pay to park. Mind you we already pay $50/month per car to park plus the $1500 rent. Now, they give you this pink parking validation ticket for guests but it's only good for 2 hours so if your guests stays past 2 hours, they have to pay. Mind you parking is super expensive hourly so let's just say, I don't get visitors anymore.

Let's not get started on management and staff. They have changed management and staff 3 times since I've been a tenant. Nick was the one who I started with. I'll see Nick around the property and he won't even speak. I've read reviews about Shayla prior to move in but I figured she couldn't be that bad but she definitely is. Not very friendly and welcoming. Nick arranged for my mom to come in at a later time to sign her half of the paperwork but I guess he never explained to Shayla what was going on so when my mom got there, Shayla just seemed like she was so annoyed with the situation because she had to fix Nick's mistakes, which left a bad impression on my mom. They NEVER answer the phone. If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns don't ever expect them to answer the phone. You MAY get a response back via email (hours later). Just not very helpful when there's a problem or even empathetic. Brandy was the best person they had but I haven't seen her in over a month so I'm hoping she got moved to another property because if they got rid of her they are out of their minds. Also when Shayla went on maternity leave, Brandon stepped in during her absence and he was great as well. Wish they'd keep him too!

Call box for your guests to get in hasn't worked since I moved in. If you ever get locked out, forget it especially if it's after the leasing office business hours, you might as well sleep in your car. They don't have any after hour maintenance. I have a pretty decent view from my room but they have not had the windows washed as promised since I've moved in almost 12 months ago.

I just honestly would not recommend "The Office" to live. Only reason I give them 2 stars is because maintenance is quick (during business hours) and the apartments are really nice...
