I am a very tolerant customer and rarely write reviews, but my experience obtaining a renter's insurance policy with this group was pretty awful. I had a policy with them last year and it was a breeze. Even for this year, I initially had no problem getting a policy. The day before my move, my apartment complex called and stated that I needed a 3rd party added. I had been working with Jenny previously, so she was helping me add the 3rd party address. I stated the correct address over the phone and the version I recieved was incorrect. I wish I was kidding but this happened about 4 more times. The address was still incorrect. I decided it would be easier to email her the address to see it written out. Even then, the version I recieved was still wrong. Mind you this is the day before I move so I am panicked that I will not be able to get the correct policy in time. I finally decided to ask her to cancel my policy to find another insurer that could get my address right. Me asking them to cancel was what made them FINALLY get it correct. About 7 versions later, I finally got the correct policy. I would also like to add the poor customer service I recieved. I provided the correct address each time and was made to feel to blame for their lack of competency. It was a terrible experience but I'm glad I got my policy before move-in. Read moreMost of this is an issue with StateFarm corporate but is also related to this specific branch: Over a year ago I moved out of Georgia and reinstated a policy in a different state. Since I paid full coverage in advance, I was notified that I was being reimbursed for $300. The corporate financial office sent it with the name of my building instead of, you know, the person who actually paid them money. I have called Chad Powell’s office and they reassured me they will get back to me. They did not. 4 times. Chad Powell himself provided a number I can text to get updates. No response. I can’t even get ahold of anyone in upper management at StateFarm because their automated phone system will only let you speak to your local representative. There also isn’t any ability to file a complaint with StateFarm using their phone system and my attempt at using their online comment system was ignored.
