The overall dining experience at this Chinese restaurant was outstanding. The dishes were refined and flavorful, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine with a creative touch.
Starting with the Garlic Snow Pea Tips, they were light and refreshing. The pea shoots were tender and cooked to perfection, while the garlic added a rich aroma without overpowering the dish—perfect for diners who enjoy fresh, green vegetables.
The Shrimp Paste Crispy Pork was the highlight of the meal. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it delivered an initial crunch followed by the unique umami of shrimp paste. Rich but not greasy, it was so addictive we couldn’t stop eating.
The Steamed Branzino also of excellent quality. The fish was snowy white and delicately tender, with no trace of fishiness. The sauce was balanced just right, enhancing the natural flavor of the sea bass. It's a dish that truly showcases the chef's skill.
The Spicy Mao Roast Duck brought a strong Sichuan-style aroma to the table. The duck skin was crisp, the meat firm yet juicy, and the mildly spicy seasoning made it irresistibly appetizing. It was bold in flavor but not oily—a well-executed dish for those who enjoy robust tastes.
Lastly, the Szechuan Beef with Fresh Sichuan Peppercorns offered a rich, multi-layered taste. The beef was juicy and tender, and the fragrant numbness from the fresh peppercorns complemented rather than overwhelmed the beef's flavor. A must-try for lovers of the numbing spice.
Overall, the restaurant shows great care in ingredient selection and flavor balancing. Each dish had its own unique character and highlights. Whether you're dining with family or catching up with friends, this place is highly recommended. Looking forward to coming back to try...
Read moreI had my first and last visit to this restaurant. When I inquired about the "Golden Fish" dish with the Assistant General Manager, I asked specifically how it was prepared. She explained it as "a pumpkin purée and a piece of fish," so I decided to order it. However, upon receiving the dish, I was surprised to find that it was actually a soup with small pieces of fish in a cream broth. Interestingly, the dish is listed under the seafood section on the menu, and another item in that section is clearly described as a fish soup. It would have been helpful if the "Golden Fish" had a similar description, so customers know what to expect.
I also asked the server and the Assistant GM if the dish could be removed from the bill since I wasn’t informed it was a soup when I ordered. Their response was that items can't be voided, which I find questionable. If this policy exists, it should be clearly stated on the menu or posted in the restaurant.
Another issue was with the sides. The server mentioned that the sides came included with the three items I ordered, but I was billed for them separately. Additionally, the restaurant was quite empty, with only two other tables occupied, yet my server was not very attentive—failing to bring basic requests like silverware, extra napkins, or to-go containers.
Overall, my experience was disappointing. I believe the Assistant GM had the authority to accommodate my concerns by removing the "Golden Fish" from the bill and adjusting the charges for the sides, especially since there was some miscommunication about the dish’s nature. The dishonesty about side costs and the lack of clear dish descriptions reflect poorly on management. I recommend spending your...
Read moreI ordered delivery from here because my usual spot (Big Boss) is now closed on Sundays. I will not be ordering from here again for multiple reasons.
Everything is way overpriced and the proteins are small. They are incredibly stingy. On top of the portions being extremely small, they didn’t even include the normal condiments or chopsticks you’ll receive when you order Chinese takeout. The hot & sour soup was miniscule and they only included about 5 small fried wonton pieces on the side. The fried eggplant had about 8 pieces of eggplant for a $15 asking price. I called to add a drink to my order because it was not an option on the app, and they asked for my card information over the phone. I’ve worked in restaurants for 20 years and if a customer called to add a drink to a nearly $100 order I would have just given it to them. Items were missing from my order. I ordered crispy chicken with orange sauce. I received the chicken (which was overcooked) but no orange sauce. Last but most importantly not least, I was not impressed with the flavors. The hot and sour soup was sweet - weird. The chicken was overcooked. The fried rice was literally just rice - no onions, carrots, peas, nothing.
I know this is a newer restaurant and they’re still trying to work out the kinks, but in a neighborhood that already has plenty of great Chinese options, you’d do better off dining or...
