Since starting grad school here, I've gotten two haircuts at this salon, both by Andrea, who has done an excellent job. The first time, I was happy to find a place that would take me as a walk-in close to 4:30pm on a Sunday. Andrea was polite, friendly, and did a very efficient job. I get my hair cut mostly when my mom says it's time, and there have been only a few hair stylists who've met my mom's high bar for hair cut quality (she did hair commercially for a short time and then regularly cut my and sometimes my dad's hair at home for years). This stylist was one of the few who met the cut. I was happy when I went back on another Sunday evening, this time right before classes started, and she was there again. This time, it was so busy that a walk-in waited over an hour to get to the front of the line. I didn't mind since I had reading and an errand to do at the bookstore a block away while I waited, and they can text you when you're near the front of the queue. They processed one person about every 20 minutes, very efficient for a hair salon in my estimation. When Andrea cut my hair, she took notes on what exact style she used, so it could be repeatable, and she confirmed this style when I came for the second time. Their system seems to work, as the cut seemed about as good as the first one I got here. After this second cut, she gave me a free sample bottle of a shampoo to try, wanting to see how I liked it. Overall, I am very happy with the...
Read moreI walked into the GA Tech location with my fiancè for his haircut. We always go together bc he needs his lady's opinion :) We've been here before and I usually sit in an empty chair to watch. They've always been nice from greeting us, doing the cut, to leaving. However, today, Sunday, May 21 as I was about to sit and watch the cut, a different lady sitting nearby waiting for a customer tells me that I CANNOT SIT THERE, I MUST GO TO THE WAITING ROOM. I nicely explained that I always watch his cut and she didn't care. We are the ONLY people here so there are plenty of empty chairs. PLUS, IVE WATCHED BEFORE AT THIS SAME LOCATION. Very rude person and I do not like giving money to rude people. I never expect much at Great Clips, but for a man's cut, it's pretty decent. This rude woman just proved to me that "yeah, you get what you pay for." 🤷 In the end, the nice lady who did the cut had to go back to redo something. I was talking to another customer and he says his wife always watches him...
Read moreToday I went to this salon for a haircut. My expectations were high since the reviews are overwhelmingly positive and the rating is a perfect 5. However, the reality was far from my expectations. The haircut I received was mediocre, and it was not what I had requested. My hairstyle now looks as if I came from a distant village. The hair on the sides sticks out, even though I specifically asked the barber to use clippers there and ensure the hair was short. I also mentioned that every person’s head shape is unique and asked the barber to consider that when cutting my hair. Instead, the result is a potato-like head with a short wig. The haircut was done by default, with no style or professional perspective applied. When I inquired if they wash the hair after the cut, I was told it costs $10. I must be missing something, because I cannot understand why it costs that much. Next time, I would rather go to a different salon, pay an additional $20-25, and be happy...
