Attention I have erased my previous rating(4 stars), and my original review that was given before completing transaction. I guess they didn't plan on me ever finiding out what they took from me. I have a gold ring, inlaid with three original, minors-cut diamonds. The ring was in my family for three generations and well over 100+ yrs. old, that we can prove. I needed quick extra cash for my honeymoon. The night before our flight departed, I went to "New Hope Cash for Gold". Having every intention of paying them for the loan to receive my jewelry back, I wasn't seasoned enough to perceive what they did. I paid off the loan within two months of it being there, and received the ring back. I placed it back into the home safe where it always was, and never had left. At a glance, everything seemed all right. About a year later I needed tools for a new job start-up. This time, I was not in such a rush and brought it to a close friend and also an expert jeweler who was to loan me the cash. Upon his assessment he asked if it had been brought to a jeweler or anyone prior. Confused, almost forgetting the only time it had been out of my safe. He began to prove his findings, saying "It was worked on fairly recently, and the middle diamond did not match the others". After getting other opinions, that I knew would be pointless, it was confirmed. They had stolen an original diamond and swapped it for a fake. It was a very hard lesson to accept. I had to live with the fact that I ruined an heirloom, and there was no way to recover anything for my loss a year later from these crooks with thick accents, that barely spoke any English. D.T.A. !!! I only hope this warning helps someone else in the future. Learn from my loss.. I would NOT RECOMMEND this business. Right around the corner on the same block, is Roso D'ora jewelers. They are honest and professional, but do not offer loan services. If you are in A.C. and need these services, Wood's Pawn & Loan is the best and...
