I came in as I do almost everyday and was approached by a woman who stated her name was Leslie that me and my boyfriend were “selected” to go to the register and we could not use self checkout. I asked why because we shop here all the times and always use self checkout. She stated oh because you have a big cart thats what my manager stated. Do you understand how you were “selected because you have a big cart” sounds? judgmental and possibly racist.. I said how when we always use self checkout with big carts. She basically disregarded the conversation and walked off. We headed to register 2 and were greeted by a worker named Andy. (Sorry for having to listen to my rant in line btw) I explained the situation to him and asked if I could speak to a manager, instead of speaking to a manager Andy simply just answered all of the questions and remained very polite throughout our whole interaction. He explained that self checkout is for 10 items or less and pointed to the signs stating that, I told him thats makes perfect since and that’s literally all the first lady had to say instead of saying you were selected to not use self checkout because you have a big cart. I stated to my boyfriend that i waited and vented to him in line for 10 minutes very upset and confused when the first lady who spoke to us could have cleared that up to begin with. Andy thank you… you turned my whole experience around. I never had this happen here and I am here almost daily… maybe management can teach Leslie how to properly handle customers and their concerns when SHE...
Read moreThis is the worst Tony's I've ever been to, horrible cashier and Manager (s). If there was an option for zero stars that would have been my rating for this store. On Wednesday September 13,2017 I visited my local Tony's to buy some rambutans but they ran out so I decided to drive to the 271 South Bolingbrook location. When I got there, I picked up my rambutans and waited in lane 2 for a few minutes. The cashier Mayra, very rude and didn't even greet me, she ignored me when I tried to explain to her that I wanted to pay for my items separately and had an attitude while taking to her coworker that was standing in lane 1. Mayra, proceeded with my request without acknowledging me. Mayra, over charged me for my rambutans, they are usually $4.99 a pound but she changed me $5.99 a pound. (I Noticed The Overcharged While Driving Back Home Because The Person I Was Buying The Rambutans For Texted Me Asking How Much They Cost) I called the store, the girl I spoke with ask me to come back to the store so that she can make the adjustments. Upon arrival, I requested to speak to a Manager, a few minutes later Julio the Manager shows up. I informed him about my experience with Mayra the horrible cashier, and I also told him that I drove 35mins to this location. He looked at the girl helping me and ask her to give me a five dollars gift card and walked away with Mayra the horrible cashier laughing. I refused the gift card and waited while the girl make the adjustments. (She was very nice and...
Read moreMy wife purchased two whole Catfish at this location @ $5.99 a pound spending over $30 for two whole fish. She asked the butcher to filet them which he told her they'd be $7.99 a pound if he did. Flustered, she took them uncut and came home. I, her husband, called and spoke with the manager Benjamin and asked was this policy, when they started this, and why when NO OTHER STORES I'VE EVER PURCHASED MEAT FROM has charged to filet, or steak, my fish. He proceeded to tell me the butchers charge more to make money, then he said "well sometimes they don't want to, or feel like it". He said that my wife "should've came and asked customer service" to ask the butcher to cut the fish as she asked... Why would she when she asked the Butcher himself which is his JOB? Because I continued disagreeing with him, he told me he wouldn't argue with me (no voices were raised but because I kept making my point, he assumed we were now arguing, go figure...) and told me "you can call corporate" as if I needed his permission to. I just shopped at Tony's 3 to 4 weeks ago making the same purchase, and request, and had no issues. Now, all of a sudden... If you don't want to do your job, find another. And if the manager is allowing this behavior, that speaks even louder volumes. Pretty sure race, and sex, played a part in their decision making. This is CLEARLY PRICE GOUGING!!!!!!!!!!!!...
