Shayla (@stylesby_shayla) completely transformed my hair. She has now become the only person that is allowed to touch my hair for the rest of my life, after going to FIVE different salons. I previously went blonde (naturally dark brown) at another salon that was supposed to be infamous for having a national reputation for providing high quality services. Well, long story short, all of my hair fell out after it was burned off due to stylist error. As you can imagine, this was a little traumatic for me. I was having a hard time finding another stylist that could deal with the nightmare that my hair had become, and honestly was feeling quite embarrassed and ashamed at its appearance, even though it wasn't my fault. Shayla was recommended to me specifically because she has the absolute best 'bedside manner' in the entire city. She was completely understanding and welcoming, and assured me she was not judging my fried hair. She transformed my hair from a rats nest that was at least 6 different messy shades of brown, blonde and copper, and has put me back on the path of having great healthy natural growth, and PERFECT color correction.

I have also booked with Shayla before to install keratin bond hair extensions, and was hesitant to do so but I’m glad I had her do them. Writing this review is tough as I want to gatekeep her for myself and keep her my secret. I recently visited this salon for the first time, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From the moment I walked in, everyone was so welcoming and inviting. The receptionist was incredibly funny, polite, and endearing, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and I immediately felt at ease.

I had the absolute pleasure of having Rachel as my hairdresser, and she is truly incredible. Rachel is not only kind and talented but also made my hair look better than it ever has before—she’s a true artist! Talking with her felt so natural, like catching up with an old friend, and before I knew it, the two hours had flown by. She’s a perfectionist in the best way, taking her time to ensure every detail is flawless before you leave.

I really did not want to give a low rating review because when it comes to customer service, I think this salon is good. Friendly staff (Jordan is so sweet), convenient location, clean salon, and very accommodating however when it comes to the hair service, I am very unsatisfied. I have attempted to go to HAIR three times. The first time with Shayla was good (not great) but enough for me to come back and try again. Unfortunately Shayla was unavailable the subsequent two times and I walked away very disappointed. I am mixed race and I have curly hair. I was repeatedly reassured the stylist are “familiar” with my hair texture but the end result states otherwise.
