Absolute incompetence. Because this store has clothing on racks both torn and covered in makeup (um, is this Target?), I had to have a fresh dress shipped to me. No big deal. But rather than ship the dress to me that Friday so I would have it before traveling, the shipping store waited until THE NEXT TUESDAY to ship the dress to me. So, I didn’t even have it for the event I was counting on wearing it. So I had to go back to the store to return it (or so I thought). Instead, employees were unable to do so because instead of inputting my cc number in to order the dress, they chose to use a gift card (???), rendering me unable to return the dress only for a gift card I never had. Now I have to contact customer service, walk them through what their store did, ship the dress back to them, and then get my refund. This is certainly not the level of customer service I expect from a boutique at this price point. This is the last purchase I will ever make from Jenni Kayne.
Edited to add clarification as the store manager called me (I’m sure it had nothing to do with this review) to hear “my side”. No apology on her end about my dress not being shipped until after my plane left for the event- I had to interject and ask her she was taking no responsibility for this occurring. She blamed FedEx for not making a pickup on Monday (apparently they’re unable to go to FedEx with a 0.25lb bag)…so the store was wrong when they told me my dress would be “shipped out Friday and arrive no problem before my event”, because the store placed the order “too late for it to be shipped Friday” (it was not late in the day; the store closes at 6pm).
I have edited my above comment as I did not recall there was a reason for a gift card to be involved, but because I went into the store to exchange my dress “too late”, they were kind enough to make an exception to allow for an exchange. I had let them know that I just had a major breast reduction and was unable to try the dress on until that day (hard pass on trying on a dress with stretchless fabric too early after breast reduction surgery). What’s awesome is I purchased an almost $200 pillow during my return attempt yesterday, and they had me pay with my cc before informing me I had an almost $400 gift card.
So, I maintain my two thumbs down for Jenni Kayne, even though their manager called me today with her super fake...
Read moreWow. Love Jenni Kayne sweaters -- I have 5 cashmere ones in mulitple styles and I have several cotton ones. I was actually looking to buy a new one so popped into the shop on Newbury Street in Boston and looked through the entire store and the entire rack of clothes and not one person spoke to me and my daughter. Not a word, not a welcome in, not a hello. Nothing. We both dress classically and stylishly. My daughter WORKS IN THE FASHION industry. Soured my taste for sure. Disappointing. Every human deserves a kind "hello" and a smile. Clearly I didn't fit the bill as "Jenni Kayne" customer and warrent any communication...
Read moreI had the most wonderful experience! Hannah and the team are so generous with their time, have fantastic styling recommendations, and understood my taste just about instantly! There is an advantage to visiting the store for this excellent advice, and ability to view the beautiful colors and fabrics in person. Jenni Kayne is a gorgeous line of "forever clothes." Please consider shopping here versus the website. You will be as...
