LEKKER HOME is a high end furniture and decoration retail store featuring lovely products. I had a terrible buying experience there and would not recommend that anyone shop there. On the 16th of November, my husband and I visited the shop and agreed to purchase an “off the floor” reduced price dining room table for $1,959.20, which was immediately charged to our AmEX card The Lekker Home store is located at 38 Wareham St. in South End Boston. We reside in a condo immediately next door at 56 Wareham St. We wanted our concierge and handyman to immediately transport the table on a trolly they had available from 38 Wareham Street to our home at 56 Wareham St. approximately 100 feet away. The sales help and the manager who was on duty refused to allow this. They insisted that their delivery service be used to deliver the table to us at an additional charge of $208.00. We objected and were told that this was non-negotiable, assuming however that their delivery service would transport if to us next door. This was not the case. The delivery service picked up the table and transported it approximately 25 miles to their warehouse in Framingham MA. “The Word Movers”, the delivery service that LEKKER subcontracts to, then was unable to deliver the table to our apartment until today, November 30th ,14 days after we paid for this purchase. The totally inexperienced crew that delivered “white glove service” had trouble figuring out how to tilt the table to get it through our front door. My husband had to help them with this very simple maneuver. Purchasing at LEKKER has been a totally negative experience.

I had previously purchased a lounge chair about 6 months ago from Lekker that was a “discounted floor model”. The competent sales person who was working there at the time, charged it to my AM Ex card and helped me to carry the chair out of the store, so that I could bring it to our apartment next door. Evidently their policy has changed as have their sales help, who are now totally incompetent. There are many other designer stores in Boston that have excellent service. I would recommend that anyone looking to purchase high end contemporary furniture...

We found Lekker by accident, searching for a new kitchen table and chairs. Our needs were pretty specific, especially when it came to size and color. We found a table we loved, and four chairs. Having just had a truly miserable experience ordering on line from a restaurant delivery aggregator, we were quite nervous about spending so much money with a place we didn't know. Looking at their online reviews reassured us and we spoke with them by phone as well; knowing they had a brick and mortar store was even more reassuring. The table is almost exactly what we expected; it's actually better made than the description would have had us believe. The chairs are hugely more beautiful than the photos, too. Dimensions were accurate, and the people who delivered with white glove service were polite, thorough, and on time. We did have confusion with the actual delivery company, over the course of several weeks and numerous calls and emails - but within an hour of notifying Lekker, they'd responded to us, and they continued to over-see everything until we were finished. And much to our surprise, they also refunded a portion of the delivery cost for our time and trouble! Based on my personal experience, I would recommend them without hesitation as of this date. Great customer service, no false advertising, on time delivery and better (the chairs were supposed to take 6-8 weeks and were here in half that time and less.)...
