I’ve been looking at their clothes online and was so happy to see that they had a brick and mortar store by my hotel. Walked in with my daughters and got the stared down and no greetings - three ladies behind the counters on their phones and one lady folding clothes... I didn’t care at first but white lady came in after me and was greeted happily with a hello by the same sales lady that stared us down. I walked around the store, no one came by to offer help. I even stood next to a sales lady that was folding a sweater. She dropped the sweater and walked away. Now I know for sure it wasn’t my imagination. I went to the dressing room to tried on some clothes… the sales lady there nodded me to a free stall while she was chatting away with a white customer, I guess I wasn’t worth her time either. My daughters asked me ‘’why were the sales ladies so rude and cold…did we not dress well or something”.. I was sad to hear my daughters’ words and dropped the clothes and took them out. I was going to talk to the manager but why waste our vacation with rude people and have them ruin our time here. I was so looking forward to shopping at Sezane but will never spent my money on a business that is so blatantly racist and rude. I live in the Bay Area and my friends mentioned shopping at a Sezane there. We will definitely not after this experience. Very...
Read moreI read some comments about rude service if you’re not white, and unfortunately, I had a similar experience. The staff at the sweater bar was friendly enough, when I asked for a different color, he got it without issue. But the tall woman at checkout was another story.
From the moment I walked in, she gave me a constant RBF instead of a simple hello. At checkout, she made it seem like a huge inconvenience to look up my account. Even after I handed her my ID, she sighed when I corrected her spelling, as if making the change was too much effort.
It may be coincidence, but the woman behind me, also non-white, received the same treatment- no greeting, no friendliness, just attitude. The staff at the Newbury St. pop-up were far more welcoming.
This reminded me as to why this is only my second visit to this boutique, and likely my last, which is disappointing because I really do enjoy shopping in-store. And I’m also certain she didn’t spell my name correctly because I never received my receipt via...
Read moreSo happy the store is open! They carry clothes, jewelry, bags, belts, accessories, and shoes. The store associates are super nice. But it's a small-ish store so it can get overwhelmingly busy quickly, and the layout prioritizes aesthetics over function.
There's about 10 racks of clothing, each piece with 3 sizes hanging (usually a size 4,6,8), so if you need a different size for literally anything, you have to ask a store associate. This prolongs the time people will spend in a dressing room, so anticipate long wait times for one of the 6 dressing rooms.
The sweater wall is aesthetically pleasing but not practical. To get a size you want, they have to pull out the entire stack of sweaters and hand it to you. Again, anticipate long wait to get a size you want. I recommend looking up styles on the website beforehand to be efficient with...
