Really cute place, but really disorganized. Maybe it’s just because it was the first day, but when we went in it wasn’t too busy and the flow was just off.. Ordered a matcha and an oat milk cortado. The cashier was so confused when I ordered the cortado. She asked me if it was a drink. I said yes, it’s an espresso based drink. She said “Oh so you want a latte.” I said “No, similar. Cortado has less milk.” And then she called over someone to help her. He also didn’t seem certain of what a cortado was. Even though he was the barista and it was on their menu right there 😂 Anyways, I wasn’t confident in my drink being too good after that. They charged us 50 cents for the ice in the matcha. And an additional $1 for the oat milk. My cortado was served in a 12oz cup (latte size) and when I tell you think drink tasted like burnt rubber and oil. The matcha tasted like dead grass, not freshly cut grass 😂 We ended up pouring both drinks out. HOWEVER, the pastries are beautiful and quite tasty. Definitely would not go here for the drinks. Too expensive for such horrendous quality. But the pasties? I would recommend. We got the monkey bread, chocolate chip cookie, and a strawberry vanilla bun. The chocolate chip cookie was so good. We went to Blue Bottle right next door and tried getting coffee again, and THAT was the right move. Blue Bottle Coffee and Lakon pastries are a match made in heaven!...
Read moreI was excited to try Lakon Paris Patisserie in Seaport, and while the food and drinks themselves are great, our first visit was unfortunately disappointing because of the customer service.
Yesterday, my girlfriend ordered a tea latte. The order was entered incorrectly at first (which was no big deal), but instead of handling the mix-up with kindness, one of the staff members (brunette with tattoos) spoke to the cashier in a way that felt belittling and humiliating. It was uncomfortable not only for us, but even for people seated nearby who noticed the exchange.
When remaking the latte, the staff member seemed visibly flustered and rushed. The drink was spilled multiple times during preparation, and when finally handed over, the lid was not secured properly. This resulted in the drink spilling onto my girlfriend and burning her.
Your employees represent your brand, and unfortunately, this staff member’s behavior brought your brand and atmosphere down. Thus, the one-star atmosphere rating.
For a new cafe in Seaport, where the environment is otherwise so nice, I expected a much better level of professionalism and care. I really do enjoy the food and drinks here, but the service we experienced made the visit upsetting, and I hope management takes steps to improve the customer experience...
Read moreLakon Paris Patisserie is possibly the most insta-famous bakery/cafe in Boston. Their picture-perfect croissants in different shapes and flavors are seen everywhere on social media.
Their croissants are on the pricier side, but listen, they are HUGE and generously stuffed with fillings irl.
Apparently they are also known for their tiramisu latte and pistachio latte. Almost every customer in my line got one but I lacked the stomach room for it. I’ll definitely revisit for the tiramisu latte next time.
*Milk Cream Cube Croissant $9.5 We were eyeing their holiday specials and finally got our hands on their milk cream cube croissant. It was garnished with a christmas tree shaped ginger bread cookie.
When I cut through the croissant, I could literally feel the crunchiness. The filling-to-pastry ratio was insane—the milk cream filling was overflowing!! I personally prefer a higher pastry ratio though. The milk cream was very sweet and rich.
I’ve had really bad cube croissants in NYC, and I could confidently say the ones from Lakon Paris are so much better.
As I had low desire for sweets, I didn’t get anything for myself and found this croissant too heavy for my liking. My bf loves sweets and he devoured the...
