NO STARS. Unprofessional, unhelpful, and all around incompetent. Price gauging good locals to make a quick buck, but provide inadequate services with a side of rudeness. Per the postal code, postmasters get to set the pricing for PO Boxes, which the highest rate listed is $60. Seems steep when 99% of Summit County is required to pay for a PO Box. Doesn't that seem greedy? We have paid for rush delivery in the past to have packages arrive a week later. We have had packages delivered and returned without adequate time to receive them. When placed under "investigation" regarding an address issue they immediately locked us out of our PO Box saying they'd call when the investigation was completed. No phone call. Had to call the 800 number and sit on hold almost 2 hours to be told that the investigation was closed without any sort of notice provided to us. Finally had enough of the crappy service and allowed our PO Box to get closed in April and they continued to deliver our mail there. Had a package with over $100 worth of merchandise get accidentally delivered to the PO Box in May and it has either been stolen by an employee or whoever now has our old PO Box. Lloyd whom I spoke with regarding this not once, not twice, but three separate times didn't care. He never once uttered a sorry. He only seems to dish out apathy. He did offer to leave a note for the person to return it, after stating two weeks prior during our second phone call that he would call me back regarding the location of this package but he never did...so not hopeful he'll do that either. Tried to claim it was simply a clerical error and essentially blamed me that the package was missing...simple clerical issue? Is that the go to response for all their incompetence? Asked him to email me with the date they locked us out for investigation...still waiting. No wonder everyone hates the postal service up here. Check out the reviews for all the post offices in Summit County. Everybody seems to be getting charged obscene amounts of money for NO service. While we continue to pay they are getting the message that their inattentiveness and unwillingness to do a good job is allowed. Send a message that it's no longer acceptable and take your...
Read moreI truly wish I could give the Breckenridge Post Office negative stars. I have had a PO Box there for 6 years. I went to pick up a package last week and was told that there is no record of me in the system. The new postmaster told me that I "must have been receiving free mail for 6 years," and walked away without any further help. Russ called him back and told him that he is certain I have paid for my box every year. The postmaster refused to acknowledge this fact. I was told that unless I could provide receipts for my previous payments I would have to fill out a form for a new PO Box. At this point, I had been in line for about 45 minutes and the line of other customers was out the door (as usual). As calmly as possible, I insisted that I maintain my current box. After another 20 minutes of arguing, I finally gave up and agreed to fill out a new form, pay for a new key, and pay the annual fee, which I had paid less than 6 months prior. In addition to this incident, countless packages of mine have been lost or sent back. If you go to the counter farthest on the right you can see a post-it note from December with my name, phone number, and PO Box. Russ wrote my information on this post-it note because a package of mine went missing in December. A week later I went back in to see if they found it. I was told there was no record of a missing package. When I pointed out the Post-It note Russ laughed and said, "Oh yeah! Well if I'm being honest I haven't even looked yet." This place is an unprofessional and chaotic excuse for a Post Office. Is there anything we can do about the blatant disregard for customer service that we all experience (and are forced to pay for) on a...
Read moreThis place is the worst. 1 star because 0 isn't an option, wonder what their average would be if it was. After reading all the reviews I have decided there is a problem that is endemic to this place. A few bad reviews are not indicative of an issue. Repeated and constant negative reviews are indicative of a long lasting issue that is continually being ignored. Below is just one of many issues I have had with this place:
I am just about to come up on my 1 year lease of a PO Box and I won't be renewing. The place is almost always woefully understaffed and the staff has become generally apathetic. Seeing how things are, I don't blame them at all. So don't expect anyone to care about any problem you may have receiving your mail, and expect many problems. e.g. in the last year I had 3 packages that were delivered to this place and lost. Delivery to the post office was confirmed but they had no idea where the parcels were. Now here is where it gets really weird. All three were signed for by a J. Stein, but no one by that name works there. So... I can only think of two reasons why that would happen repeatedly. The first is employees are afraid to sign their name and be responsible for the parcel, the other is much more sinister. By the way I did check and make sure J. Stein was not the person who dropped the package off just in case.
All in all, highly recommend finding another way to...
