Ice cream is great but the people working there look miserable. Me and my 3 kids walked there for dessert after eating at a restaurant down the street and the outside is very attractive due to it's old age feel but the artwork is ugly on the inside and doesn't match the outside appeal. Aside from that you get no welcome when you walk in. We stood back looking at the menu while 2 others were ahead of us and we were discussing flavors and so my kids knew the flavors they wanted and we approach the glass and the girl is standing there looking annoyed, no smile or anything. Doesn't say a word and my youngest looks up at me and finally I say tell the lady what you'd like. No hello or anything. The only reason I knew she was alive was because she blinked. I started looking around and they're all drone like. No one is even acknowledging the customers. It felt very unwelcoming and cold. The ice cream is good but for that price I expected at least a hello to my kids. They asked me why no one was speaking to us and my youngest as sweet as she is said, i don't think they like us.At this point just put up kiosks to take orders. I've had better service at crumbl, sweet treats and Baskin Robins. I think we'll stick to those. At least they speak to my kids about what they want or smile and don't act as if we're an inconvenience.Normally I tip very well but this time I didn't. You should change the name to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this location a couple of times since it opened and I love the location, especially with guests or as we walk around Southside. The murals are cute and fun and it is in a historic building.
The service and ice cream is hit or miss and the shop has been empty each time. Last time I had a chocolate raspberry seasonal ice cream and it was the best I ever had. Unfortunately it was for a limited time and might not see it again. This time my kids ordered after a tasting and they were happy. I just went with the Southside Caramel, how could it be bad? It was separated, grainy, and not good at all. When I went back up to the counter to inform them of the taste and texture they said that it happens sometimes with their ice cream. After I sat back down they decided to offer me a replacement flavor.
If their ice cream has a short shelf life they should do taste tests daily to verify it did not go bad or lose the integrity of the cream.
Despite the issue, I wanted to get gift cards for my coworkers but the machine was down or the staff was not trained correctly to process them. No gift cards were purchased and we spent $9+ on three scoops of ice cream. I love local ice cream shops but will check out other local dairys or go to the one on North Shore because their staff and ice cream has been...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo be honest the ice cream I just had was not at all what I would expect from Clumpies, and honestly some of the most disappointing ice cream Iāve had. Iāve been to a different location and even have told many people that clumpies is my favorite ice cream Iāve ever had. So today after a really tough day I decided to treat myself to what is typically easily my favorite ice cream Iāve ever had, the honeycomb ice cream, which at the other location is extremely creamy with honey swirls throughout and a perfect amount of crunch. I looked forward to treating myself to this ice cream for hours today but what I received was was tasted like cheap grocery store vanilla ice cream and at the point I decided it wasnāt even worth finishing, I finally decided to dig around the rest of the ice cream to see if there had been an error, I had definitely ordered honeycomb, and saw her scoop from where honey comb was, but found what could at best be perhaps an eighth of a teaspoon of the swirl, so I wasnāt accidentally served vanilla which is what I initially thought may be the case Disappointing to the point I donāt think Iāll ever go to that location again and may take a while to go any...
