Cedar Grill Clermont — Restaurant in Clermont

This is a great place for people who never ate this type of fare before.

I placed an order of the three main but minor dishes to specifically judge this place and here's my input.

LAMB GYRO: cold, Pita was not grilled with olive oil lightly neither was the typical lamb meat you get with a gyro it was just cut off the cone but not grilled ,no you don't need to do this but a cold gyro is not acceptable. No flavor

STUFFED GRAPE LEAVES: Not your typical out of the can variety which in this case I would of much rather preferred. They were dry the leaves were not green and the veins were left in the leaves which made them very stringy and no flavor It tasted like the leaves were cooked and almost grassy like in flavor. Rolled very loosely served on top of the rice they were stuffed with. Super dry.

FALLAFEL: No flavor what so ever. No spices nothing just fried chick pea very simalar to a lot of places around which leads me to believe they were either pre made or scooped out of a bucket and nothing was added to them. Very bland.

Condiments: Tahini Sauce was runny and very watered down did not taste like anything and was not good for dipping or putting on anything cause it had no texture. Almost like milk. NO HARISSA SAUCE??? And the tzatziki sauce was super thick.

Spent $30 bucks for 2 apps and a gyro. Would of felt comfortable paying...

First visit to Cedar Grill and absolutely the last!! Sat at a table that was sticky and had crumbs all over it yet there were fresh placemats. Other tables were the same. Time for new tables and someone who takes the times to actually clean the table thoroughly.

Our server was the only bright spot. She was a solo for the dine-on restaurant plus answering phones and servicing takeout. She was cheerful and kept a smile on her face. What a gem.

The food was less than mediocre!!! My salad had bitter parts of the lettuce that I had to pick out. My husband’s lentil soup was beyond bland and no amount of pepper or salt gave it much flavor. I ordered falafel and it was so over fried it broke apart and was absolutely flavorless and gritty. The gyro meat was flavorful but again over cooked and charred. The fries are about the only thing that was okay.

There are too many other good choices in the area…get it together or...

Really great Gyros and fries! Fresh and delicious. Lots of other great dishes as well. We live about an hour away, but we have eaten here several times when we're over that way and it's always excellent. I really appreciate that they have a good kids menu (burgers, fries, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken tenders ect). Usually I'd have to settle for something else when our youngest daughter is with us because similar places often do not offer kids items and I miss out on a delicious Gyro for lunch, but here they have you covered. The dining room and facilities are very clean and the service is fast and friendly. They also have a few outdoor tables for a nice fresh air lunch if you prefer not to dine in given our current situation. And if you just want to grab something and enjoy it at home, they'll have your take out order ready in a few short minutes. I highly recommend you...
