The food is always good, so good that I frequent the establishment weekly. However, today was different. Haley, the associate who assisted me, was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. When I approached the counter, she was sitting on a stool looking into her phone. Another worker was leaning on the stand behind him with his back turned to the food. Neither of them ever noticed me, so I said "hey" to get their attention. Haley gave me a small scoop of cooked shrimp and I was displeased with the amount. I inquired if there was more in the back. She said she believed so, but never followed up. When she was topping my poke with sauces, I asked her again if there was more. Before I could finish my question, she walked off on me, grabbed the bowl of shrimp and aggressively poured the remainder atop my food. It was as if I irritated her. She then walked to the back and began mouthing things about me. When she returned, I asked if everything was okay. She said yes, but her tone was sarcastic. After I paid for my food, she asked if I wanted a receipt. I assume she didn't hear me as she asked again. I told her, "I said yes" and she mouthed words under her breathe while making a face. That's rude, insensitive and inappropriate. I had always intended to pay for the extra shrimp and was polite the entire time. However, I felt unwelcome. As someone who visits a few times a week, this encounter made me not want to spend...
Read moreI think the food is delicious! 4 stars for the food, deduct 1 for price and being stingy with mix ins.
They are extremely overpriced compared to other cities. A large here is 3 scoops and is $15.95, they charge $1 extra for brown rice and after 5 mix ins, it’s $1.50 per extra. A large in other cities is 4 scoops. For comparison reasons, a medium at other places is typically $11.95-$12.95 and includes 3 scoops, they don’t charge extra for brown rice and you can get as many mix ins as you like. This place is very stingy with the amount of mix ins they add plus considers wasabi and ginger a mix in, while other places consider it a garnish. I really wanted wasabi and ginger, but was not willing to pay an additional $3 on an already $20 lunch bowl. I am happy my city has a Poke place, though I am unlikely to ever come back due to price and the fact that they nickel & dime for everything. Overall, they are good and I enjoyed my bowl. You just get a lot less here for a more expensive price.
Also, I came here after looking at their prices online and on their FB page. They are not current and should be removed, as it’s false advertising. It states a large bowl is $13.95 and...
Read moreI have enjoyed most of the bowls I’ve had over the past few months, but they definitely have some consistency issues. Some employees are more generous with the toppings than others, the rice is sometimes mushy, and an extra scoop of rice is… get this: $3! THREE FREAKING DOLLARS for $.10 of rice.
The employees have been mostly fine, with one in particular that seems to just want to skimp on everything - like he’s the one buying the ingredients. Lol Always my luck its his shift when I go, dudes always working.
But, yeah, on the whole, I’m glad they’re here, cause CSG needs the culinary diversity, and I may circle back to them in the future, but, after 10 or so bowls, I have no desire to pay that much money for mushy sushi rice and stingy tobiko for a...
