The Coronado Flower Lady — Local services in Coronado

I’m so sad to have to write this review. I had previously heard nothing but great things about the Coronado Flower Lady, but unfortunately my experience was a total nightmare.

I ordered flowers for a bday present for a family member on a Thursday. I paid to upgrade the arrangement, and was super excited for it. It was a bit chaotic trying to order over the phone (I was put on hold multiple times in the process) but in the end we got them ordered. That process honestly should have been red flag #1 for me.

The birthday was that coming Sunday. She told me they couldn’t do deliveries on Sundays, so we went with Saturday. I waited at home all day to receive them, but they never came. I tried reaching out several times during their open hours both by text and call, but no response. By Sunday morning there was still no answer by phone or text, so I tried going to the stand in-person. Unfortunately no one was there either, even though Google showed it was open. It was also sadly too late to order from another florist at this point.

I finally got a text back the owner (Shanel) on Monday, who apologized and said they would issue a refund. It took two more days and three more texts to finally get confirmation from her that the refund was processed. However, two weeks later it hadn’t showed up so I called my credit card company and they told me that no refund had ever been issued so we had to dispute the charge.

I used the Coronado Flower Lady for my wedding flowers and I’m so happy I did! I started looking at florists about 6 months before my wedding and felt so overwhelmed by the prices/fitting my budget. I am a San Diego Local and thought I would give the Coronado Flower Lady a try. Shanel assisted with making floral arrangements that met my budget based on my inspiration photos and wedding colors.The flowers were beyond my expectations, especially my bridal bouquet! I had to take the bridal party pictures at a separate location from the wedding venue and they made delivering flowers to both locations easy. The vases they provided were gorgeous and added to the details of the arrangement. Overall great experience and I recommend them to any one needing florals...

I had ordered Elegant Beauty, a live plant orchid arrangement for our anniversary a month ago. I was out of town and so had it delivered on our anniversary. Since my wife loves orchids, and since she is not usually a fan of cut flowers that only last a few days, this was my choice. At the time I thought it a reasonable price but expensive. Now I think I got a deal. My wife is super happy. The flowers were so many and way better than the picture on their website. Very showy. A month later they look as good as when they arrived.
