Steve's Downtown Music — Local services in DeLand

Steve's Downtown Music is a local DeLand gem and I've been privileged to be a regular here since I was in high school. Steve is knowledgeable about new releases and knows exactly what he has in his collection. He participates in Record Store Day and Black Friday and if he ever does not have what you're looking for he will special order it for you. I ordered Sturgill Simpson's album Sound and Fury most recently and look forward to hitting up this shop for future additions to my collection.

I read a previous review claiming to be overcharged on a few albums purchased here. As someone with experience spending hours on Discogs and meticulously inspecting and pricing records in the past, confidently I can say that Steve's prices are more than fair and I have never felt like I paid too much for a record here. I've fallen victim to false claims and improper pricing at many other record stores in the area and have finally learned my lesson. Steve's shop is a place operated under integrity and genuine...

The owner was rude, personally insulted my husband and made rude, mumbled remarks for no apparent reason. He was apparently upset that we visited another record store in town before going to his store. We were just walking the little strip this little town has for shopping so the order we went was just random. Then when my husband asked for one band, he showed him a completely different other band’s merchandise. My husband tried to make conversation, but the man seemed to want to compete about music collections? He also called my husband “cheap” because we bought cds for $1 elsewhere. We were just spending a nice day shopping as a family on vacation. Very strange way to treat visitors. Weird. Also, no AC in the store - hot as hell in there.
