We went on the Rocky Mountain hiking Adventure with Ty. Ty was amazing! So kind, so positive, and so so knowledgeable. The views were beautiful and we spotted a lot of wildlife. Ty made sure to pull over so we could get a good look at everything. We enjoyed his informative talks in the van and how he was able to answer all our questions. Just awesome!
For those that like to know exactly what to expect, keep reading. If you trust my positive review you can stop and just book it!
We were picked up on time in Denver and driven to Lyon for a coffee/bathroom/country store stop. The store was a small grocery and deli. Ty picked up our lunch from this location. From there, we went to Estes Park to pick up more guests. There is also a stop in Boulder but no one from there signed up. In Estes Park you stop at a visitor center where you can use flush toilets and shop in a gift shop.
A few minutes up the road we entered the national park and found a parking area for our hike. The specific trail you take varies depending on parking and the group. Our hike was a little more strenuous than I expected. I am 33 and semi active, I could do it. My mother was with me and she is 68 and an avid walker, but at sea level. This hike was harder for her. She was slower than the group, Ty assured her that she was doing great and allowed us to take our time. If you do not hike, or walk regularly this might not be for you. We had lunch along the way, which was a nice break. Lunch was a tasty sandwich, chips, and a cookie.
We were walking on snow with micro spikes, which I think is easier than having to hike the rocky summer trails. Early spring was a great time to go. We had sunshine most of the day and warm temps.
After the hike up and back, we drove up to Bear Lake. This is different for each tour, we could’ve hiked to Bear lake as well, but we were ready for the van. Bear lake was beautiful but I bet it’s even better in the summer. At Bear lake you could stay right at the entrance and see the panoramic view or walk the perimeter of the lake. We stayed here for about 25 mins.
In the car ride back was quieter, and Ty played great music for us. We spotted even more wildlife on our way out and Ty took every opportunity to stop and teach us about it.
We made the same stops (minus Lyons) on the way back and arrived back in Denver at dinner time.
Overall it was excellent and I wouldn’t have wanted to go into the National Park without a guide. We learned so much and were safe....

Read moreMost of my excitement for my Denver exploration had been for my excursion in the Rocky Mountains with Aspire, and a week later I’m still beaming with excitement and overwhelmed with gratefulness. Our a tour guide, Elliot, will forever be considered a friend. That’s the best way to explain how he made us feel and the comfort he provided us in unusual Denver weather. His knowledge of the many different ecological systems was fascinating to listen. His passion was contagious and was hooked on his every word. The way he navigated the terrain with drenching rains and snow only further validated his expertise and familiarity with the mountains. I learned a wealth of knowledge about the different trees and animals, truthfully he could’ve talked about the different species the entire trip.
Pick-up and drop-off was a seamless process. I appreciated that we were able to stop in a local town to grab coffee, snacks, and souvenirs before our trek to the top.
I did mention it was some unusual soaking weather. Elliot was optimistic that there would be opportunities to experience the magic of the Rockies and he was damn right. He allowed for prolonged moments during our tour to observe wildlife and stop in a couple shops. Talk about flexibility.
What’s even sweeter, is that I got to ride shotgun the whole time. The view was panoramic and the off the script conversations I had with Elliot will forever be etched in my memory. God bless you my man.
He also let me get out to snap a couple pictures of The Stanley . The infamous hotel where Stephen King was spooked into the inspiration of The Shining!
Aspire, thank you for facilitating a wonderful tour and ensuring the right personnel is in place to create lasting...
