We made a reservation for Mother's Day brunch at this eatery. We were not impressed. To begin with, they seated us at a weirdly low coffee table. Which, fine, if that's their vibe, whatever. One of our party was a small child, so it worked well for them. Just slightly uncomfortable for the rest of us. Then, with the exception of a quick visit by a server who gave us our water, we were utterly ignored for a good 15 minutes before a waiter took our order. Then we got one of the 3 croissants we'd ordered about 10 minutes later, with the other two arriving...let's be generous and say "eventually." (In fact, when the one was delivered, it came with a second...which the waiter took away.) Then we waited for our main entrees. And waited. An ordered flight of mimosas eventually arrived, and was good, so points there. But we continued to wait for the rest of our food. And wait. A comment to the bartender seemed to produce no results. A comment to the waiter seemed to produce no results. Finally, an HOUR after we'd ordered the food, the entrees were delivered (preceded by some complimentary champagne, which was nice. Although I would have infinitely preferred promptly delivered food). Even receiving the check--historically the fastest element of any restaurant experience--took an inordinately long time.
Nor was our experience an anomaly. We noticed another group at another table who had arrived before us and also did not get their food in anything remotely resembling a speedy fashion.
I get that they were busy. It was Mother's Day. But clearly they were unprepared for Mother's Day brunch. The staff seemed distracted, unorganized, and unconcerned about their shortcomings. The only reason I'm rating this one star is I cannot post it otherwise. Zero of ten stars, will...
Read moreWent here yesterday and felt the whole time that the staff did not want my table there. First their QR code wasn't working and I asked for a paper menu, which they made it seem like it was a big hassle to get. Then after I finished my first glass of wine, I tried and tried to get a waiter's attention, but all the staff kept doing this weird thing where if I made eye contact with them, they immediately acted like it hadn't happened and walked further away. I finally was able to order the flight of wines I wanted, but they just gave me 3 glasses of red wine with no descriptions. A waitress told me she would bring me a description card, but seemed to forget. So I went back to trying to make eye contact with these people. Finally a waitress came by to clear a glass from the table, I made eye contact with her and directly asked if she could tell me which wines I had in my flight. I couldn't believe it, but she scoffed at me and walked away. Not sure what's with the attitude of the people working here, but I...
Read moreWe had a strange experience. We asked for a Hugo Spritz and an Aperol Spritz, our server proceeds to ask me if that’s the one with mint in it and says they’re out of mint. I try to explain that I was asking for their St Germaine spritz (named the Hugo) which did not advertise itself with mint, and she said “oh so you just want St Germaine on the rocks? We have really good St Germaine here” which made zero sense. There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant who both already had their food and drink but it took about 20 minutes to get our two drinks. When our server finally brought them she for some reason informed us the bartender wouldn’t make them and she had to make them herself. We both work in the industry so we try to be more than understanding but the whole interaction was...
