If you are looking for an amazing trainer I would highly recommend Josh Clark.
My goal for hiring a trainer was to strengthen certain muscles to protect and stabilize the joints that were causing me frequent injuries. I am hypermobile and have issues with my shoulders and hips in particular.
When working with a previous trainer it seemed like she just gave me a basic workout that is typical for everyone. Josh took the time to do a very thorough assessment to determine which muscles were firing and which were not. Those muscles needed much more catered workouts to build strength. My previous workout just seemed to be making my already working muscles stronger but Josh's workout were building muscles that I didn't even know existed!
Since working with him for several months I have noticed a big difference in the way my body feels and haven't had a single shoulder dislocation or hip issues.
If you are looking for that perfectly sculpted body I'm sure Josh could help with that but for those looking for someone who really knows the body and would like more specialized training, Josh is your guy. Out of everything that I have gotten from him, the most valuable gift that he has to offer is his knowledge. Read moreI was previously a member of 24 hour fitness. I have been a member at Lohi Athletic Club for almost 5 years. I cannot say enough about ownership, the gym cleanliness, and staff. The gym is rarely too crowded when I go, (off peak usually in the mornings, mid day, or early afternoon, or late evening), the locker rooms are always clean, the showers are nice, and the gym has everything I need. The gym is in a convenient location near my home and office. As far as a neighborhood gym goes, it can't be beat. The owner Dave is always super inviting and friendly.
It wasn't until a few years ago I started working out with Arabella Hare, one of the personal trainers at Lohi. First of all her knowledge is expansive to say the least! She is also upbeat, in great shape, and everything a personal trainer should be! I have been training with her for 2 plus years, and I have been in better shape than I have been in years. She stays on me in terms of working out even when I am not training with her, my diet (I love ice cream!!), and measuring me consistently so I am staying on top of my goals. But I was fine with it given I could go at 2am if I wanted using my fob and that I can bring guests for free (as answered by a call to the front desk). Today I was there with a friend who asked for some pointers and I offered to show him during my stretch time. I was approached by the owner and asked if I were a trainer. As a trainer at another gym, I am fine and understand this. But then he asked if I were a member and when I responded yes, said he’d never seen me before. Mind you, I used my fob to get in. Whether this was malicious or not, doubting someone’s membership when they would have been checked at the door is not the way to engage and retain membership.
