I tried to help my friend utilize their service program called "Dabinoo'igan" yesterday afternoon, after being referred there through the another resource program for victims of domestic abuse and a supposed "advocate" named "Brandi/Brandy" gaslighted and revictimized my friend, repeatedly, during her intake call seeking emergency shelter services. "Brandi/Brandy" actually recommended that the victim find a shelter closer to her abuser. "Brandi/Brandy" actually had the audacity to ask my friend, who had finally escaped her husband who took everything (including her phone) from her, why she didn't call the police. I'm not sure who runs Dabinoo'igan. I'm not sure who "trains" people to be so apathetic to the community they supposedly serve. At this point, I'm pretty sure that AICHO may be just as inept as "Brandi/Brandy" at the Dabinoo'igan program they house, or are an umbrella organization for. If you need help, or you trying to help someone escape domestic abuse - DO NOT UTILIZE EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS UNTIL THEY LEARN COMPASSION FOR THE COMMUNITY THEY SUPPOSEDLY SERVICE.
