This place is not only a soup kitchen, but offers free services to those in need. There is a free clothing area, which resembles more like a store. One is allowed to take as much as they want as long as it fits in a grocery bag. However, the workers will usually let you take a little more, which speaks volumes about the atmosphere and people who work there. They also offer some help for the homeless with information, and sometimes can help w getting a sleeping bag, backpack, and other much needed outdoor gear. Read moreI found out 29 years ago I was pregnant with my daughter at the Damiano Center that was the first time I was there. I went there over the next 20 years. I did almost every group and class that The DOM offered. I then found out a friend was the director a few years after I left the Duluth area. And Richard makes that place even better. He's so happens kind and his outlook on life is an inspiration. I never knew our community had a center like this. They offer free meals.. free clothing..
