Ginkgo Catering — Local services in Eugene

I reached out to Lisa and Stephanie to see if they could cater my daughter's wedding in Roseburg, Oregon. They got back to me right away but my daughter decided to go with another caterer (without even talking to Ginkgo Catering). Since they were so nice, I decided to order some food for meals at the Airbnb where I was staying with family and friends for the wedding weekend. They came up with two menus that were lovely, including homemade foccacia, homemade salad dressings and delicious lemon pound cake and madeleines. The chicken and lasagne entrees were also excellent. Four days before the wedding, my daughter fired the caterer she had hired. With the prospect of 120 guests and no food looming before me, I took a chance and called Lisa and Stephanie. Lisa picked up and I asked her if she was still available on the upcoming date and she said they were and agreed to cater the event. That evening, she provided a menu, an invoice and a game plan. I sent her a deposit and she and Stephanie began a mad dash to the wedding. It was a family affair -- they traveled from Eugene to Roseburg (81 miles away), Lisa's husband driving a truck and her daughters, a friend of theirs and Lisa with the food. A professional server also arrived. They began preparations at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning and had hors d'oeuvres beautifully displayed and passed by the pool and at 5:45 p.m., they set out a beautiful buffet of perfectly grilled chicken, a fabulous salad, pasta salad, mashed potatoes and green beans and carrots. Everything was fresh and beautiful to look at as well as delicious. The event was at an estate on a hill with lots of distance between kitchen, pool and outdoor reception area. They all worked so hard and contributed an incredibly beautiful event. Best of all they were kind and gracious throughout. All of my family was so impressed that they were still talking about it around the Father's Day Table in Chicago. I highly recommend Ginkgo Catering for their professionalism, quality, and for being lovely human beings. This was particularly trying as it was Memorial Day Weekend when it was difficult to find people to work. You are aptly named “Ginkgo”: memory keepers. The food, efficiency and service were everything they should be. I didn’t expect the appetizers to be wolfed down so quickly! Thank you. The food was great, plentiful and many good comments on how tasty it was.  Several people asking who was the company doing the catering. I’m glad I met your parents and heard about you. We have several foodies and cooks in the family and one guest whose son is also a catering chef in Portland. They all thought the food was tasty and service was low key excellent.  Having been where you are, in our last career as restaurant owners, I recognize what it takes to create an atmosphere of calm and things running smoothly. When looking for dinner options for our small, intimate wedding ceremony on the Oregon coast I reached out to a few local companies, Stephanie and Lisa scheduled a phone call with me immediately. Their quick responses, enthusiasm and delicious menu descriptions helped me make the easy decision to work with Ginko Catering. They were wonderful each step of the way, developing a menu that suited our special occasion for both meat eaters and vegans! Stephanie and Lisa were great about communicating and answering any questions, arrived right on time and Dinner was SPECTACULAR! They laid out a gorgeous spread of appetizers for guests while my husband and I escaped for photos. And then a beautiful 3 course meal with the most perfectly cooked filet mignon with amazing peppercorn sauce. We’re still talking about how good it was. I’m drooling thinking about it.
