I've been meaning to try this place forever and finally managed to get down there today with my wife. I was not disappointed.
I got the brisket. The brisket was so tender I could barely touch it with a plastic fork and bit basically melted off the main piece. Easily the best brisket I've ever had.
My wife got the cumin spiced pulled pork sandwich. We didn't notice the part on the menu that mentioned the cumin spice when we ordered, so we were both surprised by the flavor, but in the best possible way. The cumin and other seasonings give it a nice little taco place that plays insanely well with their bbq sauce.
We split the taters gratinadas. They were cheesy, Smokey, and the crema on top had a nice had a nice little spicy kick in some bites.
I enjoyed the cornbread muffin. The whipped honey butter is magical. The muffin itself is good, but stood out the least of anything we had.
I can't say they're the best bbq in the area because I haven't tried every other place that does it. But I will say, I can't imagine anyone else doing it better.
Update as of 10/22/2025: If you've not heard, they're doing some breakfast food a few days each week during the early part of the day.
Got down yesterday to try it for the first time. My wife and I both got the Mr. 107 tacos (brisket, crispy cheese, verde salsa, cilantro, fried egg, homemade beef tallow flour tortillas) and one of the sweet & spicy breakfast sausages. All of it was great.
On my way out, the owner ran out of the cart to ask how we liked it, and was kind enough to hook me up with a half serving of the biscuits and gravy (scratch made beef tallow drop biscuits).
I've gotten to know the owner a bit over the at few months - he's an awesome guy who just wants to make great food for his customers.
It's all top-notch and worth checking out. One of the best places to eat...
Read morePaper Plate BBQ What was ordered: Combination 2 meat/2 sides Meats: Brisket & pork ribs Sides: Mac n' Cheese & Cornbread Muffin with Jalapeno honey butter Also included: 4 slices white bread, 2 BBQ sauce ramekins, 1 pickle ramekin
Meat:
Brisket: The brisket was well cook and had a wonderful smoke flavor. The rub of salt and pepper added just enough seasoning to let the meat and smoke shine through. The meat maintained its texture making it difficult to cut through with plastic cutter, knife did fine. 8/10
Ribs: The ribs had a subtle smokiness to them and the rub was very lacking, the rib left was bland, adding the BBQ sauce did not help as it did not enhance the smoke or rub on the rib. 3/10
Sides:
Mac n’ Cheese: The mac was unique it tasted like they used an aged cheddar and added parmesan, it was to sharp and gave you a “funk” flavor. While not my favorite mac it was well received just not regular item due to its richness. 5/10
Cornbread Muffin with Jalapeno honey butter: Muffin had a nice texture and the addition of the honey butter and jalapeno gave you enough sweet and heat. 8/10
BBQ Sauce: The sauce was to sweet, when paired with the meats it did not marry well with the smoke and the fattiness. 3/10
Pickle: I don’t eat pickles…
White bread: just plain white bread.
Overall it was good experience, the environment was wonderful and the service was prompt and polite. The BBQ is some of the best in that area, Brisket was good, for $27 I felt it was a bit over priced 2 pork ribs, 2 slices of brisket a cup of mac and a muffin. I will be returning to try their other...
Read moreStop eating dry, unseasoned brisket in northern Oregon and go immediately to Paper Plate food truck. We were in Eugene and looking for a lunch spot and lucked out with BBQ from Paper Plate.
We ordered 1/2 lb of pork ribs, 1/2 of brisket, 2 cornbread muffins, and the cheesy potato dish (I forgot the name). Meat was juicy, tender, and salt / smokey flavored really well--and those pink smoke rings were gorgeous. Cornbread was sweet, crumbly, and the butter on top was creamy and delicious. Cheesy potato hash was melty and crispy. The picked side veggies were a nice palate cleanser, and the corn tortillas had a soft texture and amazing corn flavor (a sign of fresh tortillas).
Just a really impressive BBQ spot out of a sea of dry BBQ. You'll probably spend $20-30 per person, so just be prepared for that.
ADA seating in the food truck park is accessible for wheelchairs and non-wheelchair folk. There is a step to get to order at the truck, but someone should come out and take your order if needed.
Highly recommended tender and flavorful BBQ. Grab a really good beer at...
