6/15. Update. Welll things are bad again new people moved into apt upstirs and having problems again they slam on my ceiling in the bedroom whenever they go in there. the office should have explained to them that the insulation in the apt is none and u have to be respectful of your neighbor downstairs and that slamming is not considered normal noise i sent msg to office to call people and let them know what im hearing and for it to stop immediately i will update after i hear from office o. erwise i will have a news station investigate this place 5/30 UPDATE WOW WELL I ALMOST WENT TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF THIS PLACE THEY HAD SOMEONE WORKING UPSTAIRS in apt333 USING CHEMICALS AND OR PAINT. IT CAME RIGHT THRU MY AC VENT BECAUSE THE WORKER HAD THE AC ON WITH NO WINDOWS OPEN FOR VENTILATION ALL WORKERS WERE TOLD Y THE OFFICE BECAUSE I GET SERIOUSLY ILL FROM THE SMELL NO AC ON I WENT UPSTAIRS TO TELL WORKER TO.TURN AC OFF HE WAS VERY RUDE TO ME AND TOLD NO HE WOULDNT DO IT OFFICE CAME OVER AND TOLD ME AC WAS TURNED OFF BUT IT WAS NOT WENT BACK TO OFFICE CRYING I WAS SO SICK FINALY ANDRE TURNED IT OFF BUT SMELL WAS STILL IN MY APT THEY ARE LUCKY I DID NOT FILE A LAW SUIT AGAINST THIS PLACE 5/24 UPDATE. Well thankfully i didnt get sick from the bathroom workers. Otherwise there would have been a big law suit for this office. There are workers up there now slammming on my ceiling. i was given no notice by the office about the noise and they should be told I'M in the apartment and to keep noise at a minimum. Also i had to have all the windows opened in the apt above me because a terrible smell was coming thru from their AC unit. Once again they are lucky i didnt get sick. I am paying rent for peace and quiet and better get it. This office obviously needs to treats their tenants better. 5/16 Update thankfully upstairs neighbors moved out however another problem happened they had workers from a bathroom resurfacing company in the apt i was given no notice from apt that they would be there a chemical came thru my ac unit in bathroom all over my toilet could have gone on me if i had been there and my apt has a terrible smell i told office in writing to send someone over yet no one has come over things continue to get worse here. 3/19. At lease three tenants in the building have reported the problem to the office. Yet again the office maintains what is occurring is “normal apartment noise” and are refusing to discuss the matter further. Even a maintenance supervisor mentioned noise would be less if the tenant didn’t wear the high heeled shoes she seems to prefer. However, he didn’t mention that in his report to the office. But then he said one thing to my daughter and something different to the office. The icing on the cake is that my daughter was issued a lease violation for yelling to the tenants to be quiet. Makes no sense. No noise disturbance would mean no need to shout out. The unbelievable thing is that the office has told each tenant that complained to either break their lease and move of transfer apartments. Why not just remove the noise offenders. Sounds to me like the offending tenants have something on someone in the office. Good business sense is definitely not in play here. The management company is IRT Living. You may want to think twice before moving into any of their properties. The office staff will be your best friend until your first complaint. Then they will disavow any knowledge of providing professional customer service. ** 2/7/24 There is no-one in maintenance or management at Monticello who can be trusted. Management did offer “assistance” about the noise issue by requesting the Service Manager to be called when there is a late night noise disturbance. The Service Manager came across as sympathetic and confirming that there is a noise problem. However, his report to Management was that there is no excessive noise and the noise heard amounted to normal everyday noise. BAM! Case closed unless you want to pay extra to transfer apartments or prematurely end your Lease. There are multiple tenants in the building having the same noise issue and planning to vacate at the end of their lease term. Management is willing to empty a building rather than deal with one problem apartment. One might ask why. Well, each vacant apartment can be re-rented at a market level increased amount. Cha-ching! BTW this “normal everyday noise” has been mentioned and complained about by people walking past the building outside.
** 1/25/24 Please don’t be fooled by the reply from the apartment company. It is purely for show. They will not follow up with a return phone call or message. They will also not take any steps towards resolving the issue.
If you move into this complex and have a noise issue please be warned that the solution the office will offer you is for you to pay extra charges and break your own lease. Or they will offer for you to transfer to another apartment with a few caveats. You must have been a resident for six months, there will be extra charges, and the lease for the new apartment will not be continuous from your...
Read moreWhen I first moved into this complex, I was very happy with the space and the attached garage. Over the years (3), the rent continued to increase. Last year, the rent increased over $200 without any additional upgrades to the apartment. I had to continously complain about the upstairs tenants. You can hear EVERYTHING...footsteps, music, peeing, conversations. During my years there, the water heater had to be replaced, sink replaced due to a busted pipe that caused black mold (which I found out when I moved), garbage disposal replaced and continously repaired and ice machine continously fixed. Last summer, there was a water leak in the apartment above me. The water leaked into my apartment and ruined cabinets, carpets and many personal items. I couldn't use my kitchen for 2 weeks. They had a air blower going 48 hours while I was still living and sleeping there. The carpets were not replaced and the repairs were HORRIBLE! They left paint spatter all over the kitchen and floor and they had to be called several times because the new cabinets were crooked and warping. The complex offered ZERO compensation for the inconvenience of me having to live without a kitchen or workers constantly in the apartment. While moving, I found black mold all over the place in the cabinets, which now I have to pay for for not cleaning it when I moved. The response I received was an increase in rent when my lease was up. Thanj God for renter's insurance! The parking lot continously smells like trash because the bins get filled up weekly. The complex nickel and dimes you for EVERYTHING....valet trash, parking violations, porch violations (inluding leaving lights too long), charges for putting out trash outside of the pickup window, charges for leaving your trash can out (they expect you to bring your trash can in every day or be fined. People would drop trash in my empy trash can daily and I had to wash it everytime I brought it in). The office staff could care less about your issues. This was supposed to be a gated community, but the gates are ALWAYS broken. Police were called to the complex on SEVERAL occasions, which caused safety issues for me. The maintence staff were the only helpful ones and were quick to resolve issues. For the price they are charging, you can find much safer, prettier, newer complexes...
