This place is essentially stealing from their locals - they need to get shut down.
Check their âbest byâ dates. Iâve seen bags of chips expired more than a year prior to purchase. Almost all of their breads are either expired or within a week of expiration. There is ZERO quality control. Itâs been multiple times where Iâve gotten home and had to throw out several items Iâve purchased.
They overprice well beyond what could be considered acceptable for a high country grocery store in a lower income community.
Just bought a regular sized bag of ruffles. It was $6.59 and was labeled âXXXL rufflesâ. Do they think their customers are imbeciles or canât read? It wasnât even a family sized bag of chips⌠$6.59?!?
The FairPlay community is not a rich community. Itâs disgraceful they are allowed to over price and sell rotten products to their customers.
Iâve also read on Nextdoor that Pratherâs has banned customers who have âbad mouthedâ the store. Extremely disappointing. We try to avoid it at all costs but considering itâs the only store in a 30 minute radius sometimes itâs unavoidable and they take...
Read moreIf I could leave negative stars it would have too be -5. First letâs start with prices they are ridiculously high they have people trapped unless they drive to Buena Vista or Salida. And if I were you I would make the drive itâs only 30-40ish minutes away. Secondly the produce you get is less than perfect i fact itâs hard to even get good produce. I was looking to get broccoli crowns and it was all turning brown. I wouldnât buy any because itâs not long from being bad, all the bell peppers were withered and bad, lastly they constantly sell EXPIRED food and products! And Iâm not saying a few days but over a year out. I have noticed this more often than not and when brought up to management or cashiers you are greeted with rudeness. The female owner is horrible and doesnât want to change things. She would rather harass customers and belittle them and follow them out of the store. I have watched this a few different times. I will NEVER shop here again i will travel and give a worthy store my money. Because if I see that lady she will get a piece of my mind....
Read moreI truly believe in supporting our local businesses and helping to create a more welcoming, inclusive marketplace for everyone. While there are a few areas that could use improvement â like offering more locally sourced products and providing consistently friendly service â I see so much potential here.
It can be discouraging when customer experiences vary, but I hope the team continues to grow toward a warmer, more inclusive approach for everyone who walks through the door. Iâd also love to see more local and affordable choices for weekly staple.
After sharing feedback at the register, I did feel a bit overlooked, which was disappointing. Still, Iâm hopeful this business can become a model for community connection â a kind of place we all want to see thrive in our town. In the meantime, if youâre looking for a consistently positive experience, Al-Mart in Alma and Scanga in Salida are wonderful examples of friendly, community-centered shops focused primarily on...
