I have been to this location twice in this month of February and both times I went there it's a young man (employee) name Willow. Both times I have been there he has been "EXTREMELY NICE, FRIENDLY & PROFESSIONAL". The 1st time I went there I had him explain how the order process goes and how much it costs as well as their prices and he explained them both to me. I ordered the unlimited pizza and then he asked me was it for here or to go and I replied back by saying: "HALF & HALF. HAVE FOR HERE & HALF TO GO" (jokingly just to get a reaction or response out of him). It caught him off guard a little bit at 1st but nonetheless less he kept that "BIG OLD SMILE ON HIS FACE DURING THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION". I eventually told him I was just kidding and I wanted it to eat it @ the restaurant. I also asked him afterwords: "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN I MADE THE REQUEST" and he replied back with that "BIG FRIENDLY SMILE" by saying: "I DIDN'T KNOW HOW I WAS GONNA HANDLE IT BECAUSE I'VE NEVER HAD A REQUEST LIKE THAT BUT I WAS GONNA FIGURE IT OUT". Why this is so important to me is because most employees in today's society would have had an attitude and responded back by saying: "WE CAN'T DO BOTH YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OR THE OTHER CHOICE TAKE OUT or FOR HERE" but Willow was "SO PROFESSIONAL & FRIENDLY" during the whole encounter. The 2nd time I visited their I ordered my pizza and when it was ready he actually brought the pizza to me. I asked him why he brought it instead of calling my # like they normally do and he replied back by saying: "A FRIENDLY CUSTOMER LIKE MYSELF DESERVES TO HAVE THEIR FOOD BROUGHT TO THEM" with that (as always) "BIG FRIENDLY SMILE". I asked for his name the 1st visit but forgot his name. So on the 2nd visit I asked for his name and also asked him to write his name down so I wouldn't forget again so I could give him a review for him personality and work ethics. Good Job MOD PIZZA in choosing Willow as an employee representing your business. I told him if he sticks around long enough he's gonna become a manager or even owning his own restaurant. He's gonna make MOD PIZZA or wherever he chooses to work a lot of money. With that being said in my opinion Willow deserves a raise as well as a promotion. If I could give Willow a 100 star review I defiantly would with no hesitation but the star chart only goes to a 5 star. Keep up the good work in hiring such a WONDERFUL & FRIENDLY EMPLOYEE NAME WILLOW". WILLOW + GREAT PERSONALITY + GREAT GOOD = "I'LL BE BACK". "GREAT JOD...
Read moreI have been going to MOD pizza at different locations for a couple years and was excited for Federal Way location to open. This review is only for this location and not for other MOD locations.
I typically come once a week for lunch to this location, if I didn't love the food and have such perfect experiences at the other MOD locations I wouldn't continue to come here. The employees all immediately yell some kind of welcome or hello and several other times during a visit they all have these sing-song-ie things they say out loud to customers to probably make it seem like such a fun-loving environment to be part of, however to me it feels like rehearsed non-genuine chatter and noise. I prefer my service with real and unrehearsed exchanges and a smile.
I usually get a salad and garlic sticks and I get a light (I'm talking very small amount) of mozzarella added to the top of the garlic sticks. I've done this regularly at other locations without an issue. The Federal Way (manager girl ?) was not even building my order leans into the space and says "you will be charged for a mini pizza if you add mozzarella, since that is all some people get on their pizza". I didn't argue I just declined the cheese but I did not feel like a valued customer and did not feel happy to spend any amount of time in this location.. This location specifically has been extremely skimpy (compared to 2 other frequented MOD locations) on any toppings and pretty reluctant to customize amounts of ingredients and I feel strange asking here. That is the total opposite of how I feel at the Tacoma and Seattle location.
I am here currently eating my salad that was made by a newer employee and another employee walked up during her dressing application and says we put one ring around the edge of the bowl of salad (implying she was doing too much I assume?). It was rude and I was somewhat directing her how I like my dressing amounts (I get 2 different dressings and don't like it too heavy).
Anyway MOD Pizza in general is one of my absolute favorite restaurants, however the Federal Way location makes me leave every time feeling less good than when I came in. Wow this is long I see in...
Read moreMy partner & I made an online order to the MOD in Federal Way at 4:40p.m., ready @ 5p.m. I arrived at 5:05p.m. to a line out the door, yet a friendly greeter. I asked them where I go for online orders, & she said if you wait at the hand-off area, they'll call it out. The first thing I noticed when I walked over was the soda machine had overflowing & stacked ice cubes on the bottom of the tray where the excess soda is suppose to drain & underneath the ice dispenser. It was gross.
I stood there for about 5 minutes, until the greeter asked me the name for the order. I responded, she checked & the pizza's were boxed ready to go behind the counter. Her & I both could tell the pizza team was a little flustered; the greeter had been folding boxes in the lobby.
I am giving 2 stars because of the pizza order. My partner's pizza was a kid's size w/ lackluster toppings, & mine was a regular MOD w/ roasted cauliflower-a topping I didn't choose. We ordered 2 mega-MODS which are made standard w/ a double-layer crust, are slightly bigger & cost more $. I regret not checking the pizza's before I left the restaurant.
The team is new & still adapting to the routines. I completely understand that having worked in foo9d service. However, pizza standards are pretty straightforward: right size, right toppings, right temperature, right on time. Someone - particularly @ hand-off - should be on the floor verifying the pizzas, order accuracy & quality assurance. The team was quiet - no one was communicating to anyone. I also noticed no sense of urgency from the team at all. This is my first review, & I plan to come back soon w/ hopefully a better...
