Babbitt's Backcountry Outfitters — Local services in Flagstaff

My family was in Flagstaff for a marching band competition in October of 2023. We visited Babbitt's Backcountry store where I purchased a shirt. BUT, this shirt wasn't just any shirt. It had a picture of a dog wearing a sombrero on it and it looked just like my dog, Libby. You can say Libby is my therapy and she means so much to me. I rescued Libby when she was 4.5 months old and she will be 7 this year. Libby and I were in a pretty bad car accident together in 2022, so we definitely share a strong bond. Well, I recently had a cleaning mishap and soft scrub bleached my favorite shirt. I was SO bummed about it and couldn't just stop by the store to get another one as we live about 3 hours away. I sent an email to Babbitt's, where I received an immediate response. I spoke with Matt and he was happy to help me out and ship new shirts to me. I purchased 5 more shirts for my family and myself. I purchased my favorite down vest of all time, a Mountain Hardware two-tone, snap front, fleece pocket-lined, rip-stop nylon construction warm, warm, warm vest here that lasted my wilderness excursions and rogorous daily use for at least 10 years before it was stolen at Sky Harbor Airport. Babbitt's has it all and you get to touch, try on, and examine everything you'll need for camping, hiking, and rock climbing under the caring attention local experts who just happen to work here.

The Babbitt name goes back to the turn of the century around these parts and the fact that they continue to own and operate such a fine outdoor store is completely logical. Still, you have to admire that they laugh in the face of internet outfitter stores and still choose to run a store of such magnitude and quality goods. I am very grateful for the staff at Babbitt's. They walked me through the sizing of 4 different backpacking bags in order to find the perfect fit. They showed me how to make adjustments on all the varying belt, shoulder, load lifters, and back height adjustments. They even went as far as to place an order for the exact model and color that they didn't have on the floor. Not only that, but they were open and accepting of me bringing my esa dog in to help me shop.
