We arrived in Flagstaff kind of late and still needed to eat dinner . This place was open so we decided to stop in. We walked inside and were told to seat ourselves wherever. The server was a young male, and seemed like he was overwhelmed and unfocused even though the restaurant was not full at all. We seated ourselves and were given menus. The menus, tables and chairs were sticky. My husband tried to order an iced tea but was told they didn’t have that and did he want a soda instead. We don’t drink soda so that wasn’t an option. They also offered juice. We didn’t want that either so we settled on water . I told my husband we should probably go somewhere else . He told me to wait and see if they took our order. Another party came in and they took their order before us . Again, I wanted to leave. After about 30 minutes they finally asked what we would like for dinner . We ordered two meals and two alcoholic drinks. It took about 20 minutes for the two drinks to come out and maybe 30 for our food . The pina colada was not even frozen: just a soupy syrup and messy all o er the glass. It was cool but not cold. It was heavy on the Malibu . Our food was not restaurant quality food. Not even food truck quality . It was like I went to someone’s house and they served me dinner , just not in the “home made comfort “ way. The chicken on my tostada tasted like canned chicken. My husbands “Birria” tacos were fried and flat. 🤦🏻♀️ The dipping sauce was tiny and oily. We ate a little bit but couldn’t finish it . We asked for our bill and this is where things got interesting . They don’t have a register with a card reader . They do everything on their personal cell phones! The server tried to charge my husband $218 for our dinner . My husband caught that and the server looked flustered and apologized . He tried to charge us again and it was $57 this time . It didn’t go through. He tried 1 more time before another server came over with a square reader . This time it was $54.00 My husbands card ended up getting locked . He had to call his bank to get it all straightened out.
If you are in flagstaff, save yourself the trouble . Go anywhere but here ! Hope this...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if possible! I went in during lunch because I was craving nachos, and I live in Downtown Flagstaff. There was only one customer sitting inside, and NOT ONE PATRON on the patio. I asked to sit on the patio, and the waitress refused to allow me to sit in the shade. There were two shaded tables, and numerous unshaded spots. It was almost 90 degrees, I begged her to allow me to sit in the shade and spend my money there. She called the police, and then her mother (owner) came after the police took my info and she verbally assaulted me and attempted to physically assault me before the police intervened. Is it any wonder that there were no patrons eating during the lunch rush? hmmm.......AVOID THIS PLACE!
REPLY TO OWNER: Georgette Quintero is not telling the truth. I WAS a customer, I went in to eat. No other shaded spot on the patio was offered, the wait staff told me to sit in the sun (almost 90 degrees out that day.), or I could leave. I waited peacefully for the police to arrive because the staff behavior was unreasonable, and the responding officer instructed me to not come back without issuing any citation, since I broke no laws. This is no loss at all for me- I ate there once and can confirm the reviews below are accurate. I went to Tapatio on WRt66 and got nachos with a smile and warm customer service. Mine is far from the only bad review of Alex's, it's a great location that is compromised by poor service and an even poorer attitude of the owner... try it soon, since in 5 years it will be but a memory in town....
REPLY (Again): No second shaded table was offered by the wait staff, the owner is simply lying. The 8 month pregnant waitress rudely stated that I could sit in the hot sun (almost 90 degrees that day), or leave. If you look at reviews below, you will see other patrons stating that they experienced the exact same scenario with the same wait staff. Buh-Bye. ps- of course my posting is anonymous- it's GOOGLE, and it's 2023!! 80%+ of the users here don't use their own name-...
Read moreWhile in downtown Flagstaff on a night out with my wife, every other restaurant (walked to 3 different ones) was packed and had 1+ hour wait. We walked by Alejandro's and it was damn near empty so we went in. I ordered Barria tacos, And my wife ordered shrimp tacos. We also ordered 2 pina coladas. I can't find a single aspect of our visit there that left me feeling good. The refried beans and rice that came with the meal were COLD and the beans very runny/soupy. My wife's shrimp tacos were cold. So cold that we were wondering if that was intended. My Barria tacos were SOGGY. I had to eat them with a fork and a knife. The pina coladas were so bad my wife couldn't even finish hers. And all of this is exacerbated by the fact that it was $100!! We will not return.
Reply to owner....I did not keep leaving on a phone call. I took one phone call as soon as I got to the restaurant before I had ever even placed my order. My wife ordered the nachos and the pina coladas while I was on the phone call. Once I was done with my phone call and I came back that's when the dinner order was placed. So that negates your excuse for my tacos being soggy and my wife's tacos being cold, and other items on the plate that were cold. And I'm really sorry but an honest review of our experience is not HATE. I could have put in there how when my wife and I left the restaurant We felt like we had just had rolibertos for a hundred bucks. However rolibertos would have been better food. I live in Flagstaff full-time. I understand what the tax rate is. That has no bearing on the fact that our food was terrible, the drinks were terrible, and it was very expensive for those terrible items. I didn't leave two one star reviews This is the only review I have left. Hopefully your food gets better and your restaurant does well in the...
