The Seasons — Local services in Fredericksburg

My friend bought 4 kitchen towels for her daughter-in-law in early December for Christmas. Unfortunately they were not the style her daughter-in-law liked. In trying to return them in early January, she was told "all sales were final". Nowhere on the receipt was that stated. When I questioned the gentleman, he stated that was their policy & I should not be complaining as no one else ever did. When I told him I wasn't complaining, just wanted to understand, he stated due to Co-Vid, etc. that is the policy. As I was checking out, I noticed a sign by the register that stated "No refunds issued, only exchange or store credit". When I questioned why my friend could not get a store credit or exchange, he once again became very defensive & said in all the years they were in business, they were never questioned like I questioned them. This shop had many tasteful items that were moderately priced. I found a nativity runner for my grand piano. I continued to browse and started to come to the cash register to pay. The clerk stopped me and told me I had to backtrack my steps because my walker would not go between 2 display cases at the register. There was plenty of space! I walked right up to the register. Then she said they were antiques and she thought I would harm them. Geez...
