Truly good pasta dishes! Traveling through from out of state. Affordable, perfect portion and tasted great! They are open for lunch til 2pm, then close and reopen for dinner later.
Location: right off main street nearby free public parking lot (or park on the side of the road). Gps got us there.
Atmosphere: small and packed. All tables, no booths. Went for lunch at 1pm on a Wednesday. Got seated immediately with only 2 tables available at the time. Smelled great inside.
Service: Very friendly! Welcomed immediately. Server was nice, busy but attentive. Able to make recommendations and describe menu items.
Food: lasagna, alfredo, spaghetti, ravioli, salads, calamari, picatta, marsala, eggplant, etc. Small pasta portions were not all that small- we had a small to-go box in the end. They give complementary bread and it was delicious with their house made olive oil (which I think you can purchase a bottle if you want). We ordered the #3 original and the flavors were good with the penne pasta. Plenty of creamy sauce and good garlic flavor. Also got the #6 lemon alfredo and it was delicious- I would go back again for this! Creamy, a little acid from the lemon, with spaghetti noodles.
Price: affordable! About $12-15 for small portions and $12-19 for large portions depending on what you get. The small portions filled us up. Our server said "if you want to be full with no left overs, get the small. The large will have leftovers." We did see some people with large portions and man, that was probably enough for 2 adults to share. Large portions also come with a salad.
Overall, a great stop. Out of all of the Italian places we have tried, this ranks in our top 3 for the friendly service, value of the meal, and the awesome flavors packed into their dish. Highly recommend the #6 if you are an...
Read moreSo we stumbled upon this place while walking on main street during lunch time and a lot of places had waits. The manager/owner said would be about 20-30 minutes which was about the same for anywhere so went to make sure that was good with girlfriend and then went back in and a young lady said 10-15 minutes. Manager again was very friendly and said it'd still be closer to that 20 probably and said "Plus, if we seat you faster it makes me look better right?" And we both had a good chuckle and smile. No sooner than we sat down outside did the manager come out and say, "Matthew, where ya been?"
The service was fantastic, the seasoned olive oil and bread a perfect start, and the food was so fresh and wonderful. I almost got my usual spaghetti meatballs but I decided to get the daily special which was fried ravioli and I'm glad I did. I already knew that the sauce was going to be great because the calamari we had for the appetizer, which was the calamari strips versus the rings, which was so tender and just perfectly simple in letting the calamari shine through, complimented by a very wonderful marinara. That same marinara was then used with a fried ravioli with a fresh parmesan on top and I was definitely reminded of all my time spent with Italian family. I enjoyed being able to see the kitchen and hear them cooking everything fresh.
The entire time, we felt welcomed and appreciated as customers by everyone in the staff. Next time we are in Fredericksburg we will definitely be back, hopefully on a different day so that way I can try different daily special. But even if we do come back on a Saturday, I know I won't leave hungry with my...
Read moreMy fiance and I took a mini middle of week getaway that didnt go as planned but this place changed our outlook. We stayed at an airbnb in Fredricksburg as a jumping point for Krause Springs but as we arrived, in typical Texas fashion the temperatures dropped from the 100s to 57. While walking main street was fun I was sorely disappointed we had to cancel the whole point of our trip. As we walked main street, looking down side streets we noticed this place.
When we walked in there was a lot of hustle and bustle and we were sure there would be a wait but the manager came to us and directed us to open seats. The bread they serve was delicious. My fiance got the sunflower ravioli and I got #5 (fried artichoke and lemon cream sauce on noodles) both were fantastic. The food deserves a 5 star review on its own but I would leave more stars if I could for the amazing service.
Our server Adriana was wonderful. Though obviously busy with other tables, we never had to wait for a refill or ask for anything as it was already done. In a busy restraunt she made us feel like we were the only ones. 10 stars to her alone!
The manager was also great. We saw him walking the floor and checking in with customers the whole time we were there. My fiance was so smitten with the sunflower sauce he asked how they made it and instead of blowing it off or telling us it was a secret he told us how.
I am truly happy we took a chance to go here. I was bummed about the turn our trip took but the food and service made me want to return to Fredricksburg and next time this will be...
