Authentic, welcoming warm and theologically sound congregation. The first Sunday I attended the heat was broke down. At least three beautiful women brought me hand crocheted throws to keep me warm. It was caring and endearing even though they had never met me before. Nearly every single member of the congregation wecomed me and took the time to get to know a little bit about me. The pastor, a doctor of theology, spends a great deal of time on his sermons, expressing them with wisdom, insight, humour and love. It reminds me of the country church i attended as a chilld in the countryside of Pennsylvania. I have so missed those country folks who shared the fruits of their labors with their neighbors; sweet corn and huge tomatoes from post war vegetable "truck" gardens, pies, fruit and always homecooked soups if they knew a neighbor was sick. The people of the Central Baptist Church remind me of them : grounded, kind, loving, welcoming and wise. A church of true christian deciples. Sunday services t 10:30 a.m. and many opportunities for bible study during the week. They also have a huge clothing bank by appointment. They will gift you with beautiful clothes for work or interviews. Comfortable and wecoming church based in deeply sound Christian teachings. Free cooffe and cookies Sunday morning which is nice when it"s been so darn cold...
Read moreI think Moe was rude. Did he speak to anyone at the church to get permission to park it there? of course not. They had no way of knowing how long he would trespass with his RV and they do have limited parking. His vehicle being towed is his own fault and no one else's and I am not a member of this church. This is a tourist town, can you imagine how often this must happen and if they are not diligent their parking lot would become known as a place for free parking of your RV. I am sure if there had been ample parking or if Moe had taken the time to speak with someone at the church they may have been able to accommodate him or at least warn him he would be towed. The fault...
Read moreI parked my trailer on their empty parking lot on Thursday (non-service day) at 2:30 pm and came back at 5:55pm same day and they had it towed! The trailer (not bigger than a car) did not block anything and it took up 1 parking space. Is this what Jesus Christ would have done? Are they leading by example? I understand I parked on a private property for 3.5 hours that was an empty parking lot but still I never would've expected this from a church. It cost me $164.25 plus a lot of time to get it back from towing company 2 hours later! I could afford that but for someone else it could be their half...
