This is a pretty long review. Please take the time to read this if you want to save yourself from a tremendous headache. DO NOT GO HERE to get your nails done. This place is truly terrible. Now, I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but these ladies PISSED me off to my core. I had previously went to them to get my nails done. Mind you, I had a simple shape/color in mind…almond shaped nails with a cherry red color and glitter. It was pretty simple. Not only did they MESS up the color, they gave me chrome..which I DIDNT want. I made them remove the chrome and add glitter. But the glitter they added tinted the red and made it appear black instead. After that, I told myself I’d never go there again. Ever since, I’ve been going to NAILS OF AMERICA. They are PHENOMENAL at their service and skill. Very respectful and talented nail techs. But for some reason, recently, I decided to go back and give La Palm a try again. This time I had a somewhat complex design in mind. I wanted stiletto dark blue nails with a pink tint in the middle topped with a heart. The first nail tech tried it on my pinkie and FAILED to color my nails the way I wanted and told me they need an air brush. I figured they couldn’t do it because of their long conversation. But they told me they had another nail tech that could do it. I didn’t want to stay because I had a feeling they simply couldn’t do the design but the manager kept insisting the second nail tech would do a better job. The nail tech decided to apply powder to ALL of my nails instead of experimenting with one nail. I didn’t say anything because in the beginning I was reassured she might be doing a decent job since the base color was spot on. However, when it came to applying the pink color in the middle of the nail she decided to use an eyeshadow shadow q-tip to mimic the pink tint but it didn’t seem to work out. Long story short, I was forced to pay for basic nails with the blue base for $56 which was absolutely not worth it. They TRAPPED me into paying for the nails when I didn’t want to do it in the beginning seeing as the first nail tech was struggling to add the pink tint. Please, if a nail tech is unsure about the nail design, do not waste your time. Not only did I experience this with them, I came in again to get my pinkie nail fixed because it came off a day later and the way the nail tech went about fixing it was completely wack. Now my pointer finger nail is coming off too and I don’t have the energy to go back again. This was such a waste of money and it’ll be the second and last time I’ll go there again. I’ve read peoples reviews and the good experiences they’ve had, probably because they got the bare minimum done and something simple. If you’re one of those people, then yes, but if you’re looking to get Pinterest type nails done, then this isn’t the salon to go to. Please save yourselves the...
Read more(This is my wife Fatima's reply to the Owner): It’s really unfair to label me as the bad guy in this situation. First of all, no one would continue with a nail service disagreeing with the price. I only went along because the manager told me they don’t let the customer leave unhappy after the first nail tech failed to accomplish the design I had in mind. There is literal camera proof. The manager insisted saying the second nail tech would do it for me. The price range they discussed was for the nail set I wanted. Like I said, if y’all can’t do a nail set, don’t force the customer to stay. Let them know you lack proper equipment. Your nail techs used a q tip and the other used a brush. The manager didn’t bother communicating with me that if they failed, they’d still charge me for a plain nail set. There was no mention of that. She was sure to achieve my design with the second nail tech. And I only proceeded with the second nail tech because she hurriedly did ALL of my nails before I could say anything rather than testing it out on one of nails. But because the base color was spot on I decided to wait and see how she’d do the design. Y’all discussed the price for the nails AFTER she admitted to not being able to do my nail design. I wasn’t told of the price for the nail set I got instead. It wasn’t what I wanted. Y’all didn’t communicate properly just wanted me stay and get my nails done. Second of all, the nail shape was visibly off, so my husband requested you got it fixed before we left. He wasn’t screaming or being abusive nor I. He was being respectful, but y’all refused to fix it and threatened to call security. He was standing up for me because he saw how dirty y'all did me. Prices were clearly not communicated properly. I only knew the price range for the original nail set I requested. Y’all didn’t discuss how much it would cost if it didn’t work out. Manager and second nail tech acted confident with lack of equipment. I had every right to negotiate the...
Read moreWHOA BUDDY! I've been here twice. 10 years apart and I can't even begin to tell you how awful these people are. On lunch. I walked in. I had just removed my gel nails done at a salon closer to my house. I filled my nails to my liking, oiled my cuticles and simply needed a my gel polishes reapplied. First, it was $25. Hmm ok. To buff and apply polish. Right. Ok. So I sit down and she tries to file my nails. I say, "no thank you. I'd just liked them buffed and polished." She pulled out my color selection. Ok. No problem. I chose a color (though i've already stated I only wanted clear gel) she literally slips the color on each finger. I can see holes where she didn't bother actually painting the nail correctly (a basic technique in cosmetology) then she pulled out an OPI color. "I say, that's ok. I work upstairs, I can use one of the polishes I sell. Clear is fine, but thank you". She says oh you just want to see your nail. I reply, yes please. She then slops on the top coat. Dents and holes galore but I'm not going to let this lady ruin my day. We're get to the register, I give her MY company card in her hand and she says "OH, YOU'RE GOING TO ADD A TIP?" I say "no"... she stares at me. "How much tip you add?" I said zero dollars. She runs the card, tosses it across the counter, says "your card is there". I signed the receipt and said your receipt is there. Have a great day." Picked up my card and went and fixed my nails with chanel gel polish. If you don't want to serve blacks, just say so. I'm cool with that. And I see many of you were offered a drink. I wasn't. Then come to find out, my coworker gets charged $15 for her nails. She lacks melanin. Isn't that ironic?! I'll happily go back to Helen in friendswood who's full manicure with gel was $33.00 and tip her a $20 per usual. Never judge a book by its cover. It's bad...
