Reply to the owner: Your website states “hang out with a silversmith as they teach you ins and outs of jewelry creation. This truly is a hands-on class where you get to walk away your piece of wearable art”…. Again… I did one “hands-on” thing. I don’t see the “detailed description of what this class entails” you’re referring to. I also wasn’t “taught” anything. Your assumption about me being new to the process is a bit premature.
As far as leaving, we were told to go get coffee for appx 30 mins while the jewelry was pickled and polished for us. When we came back (I will own it was closer to 40), the pieces were completely done.
Pricing states “optional extra design features”. Average person wouldn’t assume a wire around the gem (especially since it’s not optional but required for that stone shape) is extra.
Thank you for your response to remind me to read the fine print. Hence my review… so others can get a more accurate idea of what they’re signing up for.
Original post: It’s advertised as “make your own jewelry”, but the girl bent, cut, pickled, polished… all the way down to turned on my torch for me. All I’ve done was point a torch at the metal I picked, added some silver chips and painted flux. I ended up with a very basic bracelet, definitely not worth the $. They sell the $65 class fee but be advised…. Every little detail is an additional cost. My basic bracelet with a tiny stone ended up being $118 and again… all I did was point a torch at it. We booked a “3 hour class” that lasted 1. My gf said she wanted a detailed, antiqued look (which the girl said we can do) and walked out with basic studs she barely touched that didn’t even include a bag. Not impressed and won’t be going back. Do not recommend. Watch a YouTube video and order your own supplies…. Still cheaper than what you’ll get...
Read moreCouldn’t have been cared about less. We walked in and immediately everything had a price up that wasn’t listed on the website or confirmation email. It costs extra money for a band, being as high as $30 extra. Some tiny stones were $50, my ring broke before we even finished it, and we weren’t allowed any flexibility in our rings. My boyfriend asked if he could set his bezel lower or have the bezel not on top of the band but set inside of it and we were told no. When my ring broke she tore the stone out of it and I didn’t get to do anything else to my ring, she set it down when she had already finished and completed the whole process and told us that we were done and could leave. The girl next to us at our workshop customized everything about her ring, but we were only ever told no when we asked to do something. There were pre made bezels so we couldn’t even do that much. A “3 hour workshop” lasted an hour and 20 minutes. It felt like the quicker they could get us...
Read moreHad the best time at The Stone Pony! Brooke was awesome — super chill, really knowledgable, and made everything easy to follow. She walked us through every step, from picking materials to mastering soldering, and made sure we were all good!
The vibes in the studio were great, and I loved how Brooke encouraged us to be creative and design something totally unique. It was honestly so satisfying to leave with a custom piece of jewelry I made myself. If you’re into making cool stuff and want something one-of-a-kind, you need to check out The Stone Pony. 10/10 would recommend — thanks, Brooke, for making this such a...
