I’ve been coming to this GH for years and after today, I think it’s time to call it quits.

I came with a friend today for an after work snack. My friend is unfamiliar with the GH menu and had lots of questions for the cashier. At one point the cashier said to the people waiting behind us “I’m sorry it’s taking so long” right in front of us. Very unprofessional to say in front of the customers you’re currently serving. It made my friend feel like a burden and she told me later that it embarrassed her.

When it was my turn to order I noticed that pumpkin spice was on the menu board under hot chocolate. I excitedly asked for that and the cashier said “sorry we don’t have pumpkin spice in yet.” Why on earth do you have it on the menu if you don’t have it in yet??? Now I’m the one who feels embarrassed. I ended up ordering a wildflower hot chocolate and a lemon blueberry cheesecake. While the cashier wasn’t verbally unkind, you could tell she was just done helping my friend and I.

I’m also so done with not having prices displayed on the baked goods. Almost $7 for a cheesecake bar?? My gosh. I would have backed out of it but I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of the cashier…again. Paid $11 for a small hot chocolate and a slice of cheesecake. I understand that I can choose to not spend the money but I never would have ordered it had the price been displayed.

When we tried to find a place to sit ALL of the tables were dirty. We picked the one table that was least dirty. And the floors were just filthy. Such a let down today. But per usual, the bread was delicious and it’s still the...

Delicious Food, Friendly Service, and the Best Cookies Ever!

We stopped by Great Harvest Bakery in Idaho Falls for breakfast and to grab some sandwiches for the road, and we were so glad we did! While we waited, they gave us a slice of their berry bread, which was moist, flavorful, and honestly, one of the best things we’ve tasted—it was a perfect little treat.

For breakfast, we ordered two sandwiches: egg, bacon, and avocado, which could be customized however you like. They were both fresh, tasty, and hit the spot. We also got two regular sandwiches to go: I had the turkey pesto on sourdough, and my partner got the grilled chicken sandwich, which was served warm. Both were delicious, with the house-made bread really standing out. The variety of bread they offer is impressive!

We couldn’t resist trying their salted caramel oatmeal cookies, and they turned out to be the best treat of our entire vacation. Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor—if you go, don’t leave without getting a pack!

Even though the place was packed, the service was quick and friendly. The cold brew was solid too, perfect for a morning pick-me-up. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in...

Pretty disappointed. Went in on a Saturday at noon and the bread store was out of wheat and white bread. 3 customers came in just in the few minutes I was there for the same thing to be told they just didn’t make “much” today. Then an older couple who told the girl at the counter it was their first time here asked for clam chowder that the website showed was Saturdays special and she told them they didn’t have that today. When they told her the website said that they did,she responded with “well we might have made it but we’re out if we did” and instead of suggesting anything else or apologizing for the mistake on the website (or even asking anyone about it to prevent further disappointments) she let them gather their things they had sat down at the table and leave without a single word. It wasn’t busy, there should have been more efforts made- can almost promise this older couple will never be back and if a bread store doesn’t have wheat and white bread at noon on a Saturday... not sure I...

We LOVED this place!! Great Harvest is all around me in Utah, but it wasn’t until visiting IF that we finally gave it a try. And SO happy we did!! They have so many good hot & cold sandwich options. We shared a chicken bacon ranch grilled sandwich and a pesto turkey grilled sandwich both on the Asiago sourdough. Both of them were delicious!! They also give you a complimentary bread slice of your choice with every purchase. The cinnamon bread was divine. Next time we are there we want to buy a loaf to make French toast with. I genuinely wanted to try every single baked good again this place, but had to hold back since I don’t tolerate gluten very well (oops). A week later we also got to try the pumpkin chocolate chip bread which was some of the best I’ve had. So many good things I could say about this place. The only downside is it wasn’t the best location to dine in. We got lucky getting a table but I’d recommend getting your food to go if you have somewhere else to eat.

Everything here tastes fresh and packed full of flavor. I had a build your own sandwich with chicken, egg, avocado, tomato and cheddar cheese on Dakota grain bread, and it was literal perfection. Less a sandwich and more a work of art. The chicken and rice soup warmed my bones and made me feel like I was sitting in a cozy cabin after a long day of skiing. They gave me a huge hunk of blueberry lemon bread with butter while I waited for my sandwich, and it was soft and delectable and tasty and made me so very happy. The atmosphere is great, very cozy and cottage-esque. The menu was large but not overwhelming. Plenty of bread options to choose from, and the employees were all so nice and accommodating. 11/10.

A great stop for a sandwich, soup, or both. The other goodies in the store are an added bonus. This is bread paradise for us foodies. I love the store, this was the first time that I had been in this location and found it very nice. The windows had the sun shining in and it felt so wonderful. The bread was even better. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and soups. We brought a sample baskets with some baked goodies to take to a sick friend, they were feeling much better after eating one of the snickerdoodle cookies. So if your looking for a wonderful lunch location and haven't been to Great Harvest in a while try the downtown location, its refreshing and good.
