There are a lot of souvenir shops in Ketchikan. Though I think that I decided to visit this one because of its interesting name. Upon entering the store, I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. The other souvenir shops all seem to be the same with goods likely made in China and not a whole lot that is local. Whereas this store distinguishes itself from the others as it proudly sells Alaskan-made products. I was looking for some Alaskan-made soap and was able to find it here, as well as a beautiful coaster with native art of a crab on top. Blasphemous Bill’s stands out as a must shop…shop in Ketchikan! They have quality Alaska made soaps, Ulus, knives, coffee, tea, jewelry, candy, and all sorts of high quality us Litt and fairly priced gifts for everyone. The family that runs it are super nice and local year round. Blasphemous Bill’s also have super cool products that are made by the native population. One of a kind Ketchikan experience and the best part is: it does not bow down to the cruise ships extortion fees. He does not pay for the “privilege “ of being on the preferred list of shopping recommendations of the cruise lines. Better prices, better service and a great all around experience.
