On 06/21/21 Myself and my husband were discriminated against by the Office Depot staff. We were purchasing an item with an Office Depot gift card and before we could finish the cashier asked us to provide proof of our gift was purchased from their website to ensure it was not fraudulent. I asked if this was a policy and he said yes, so for the customer checking out who was white, with a gift card he was not asked to provide proof of purchase. I asked them why we were being signaled out and not everyone being asked and was told that their General Manager said to ask anyone with a gift card to provide proof. I asked what if the gift card was a gift from someone, how do you provide proof. No answer was provided. We felt so discriminated against and signaled out. When I asked the guy could he help me he said that I don't work here the girl never opened her mouth. After the other guy finished with his customer he rang me out then suddenly the girl finds a voice to tell me the total after I had already given the person helping me the money. This is the worst customer service. Please go to Ryan street where the employees are helpful and not stupid as I left one of the boys said don't come back all both of the employees...

The lady in line said “excuse me” and the employee said hold on, left my stuff incomplete and completed this lady’s request. When she got finished, the manager pulled her to the side to discuss another job that needs to be completed for TOMORROW. It’s as if I’m not even standing here, waiting for my order. This is ridiculous and they should really do better. As close as this store is to my house, I will never come to this store again. I will gladly drive...
